Three Factories Acquired by Interstate Sugar Company of Salt Lake The Hooper Sugar company, the PIngree PIn-gree Sugar conipnny and the PIngree-Idaho PIngree-Idaho company have sold their -interests to the Interstate Sugar company, with Ernest R. Wool ley as president, according to transfers contained on the recording deed hook in the court house. The consideration of the purchase was not given. Through the transaction the Interstate Inter-state company acquires control of the plant at Corcoran. Cal., v.iiich Is now being moved to Whitney, Idaho, and the plant of the Hooper Sugar company com-pany in Weber county. Both mills have a daily beet-slicing capacity of 500 tons. The steel is on the ground for (he completion of the plant at Whitney. Whit-ney. The Hooper plant has been In successful operation for some time. The Interstate Sugar company yesterday yes-terday filed application with tho secretary secre-tary of state to increase its capitalization capitaliza-tion by adding $250,000 to its common stock, malting the total capital $1,250,-000 $1,250,-000 of common stock nnd $1,000,000 in preferred stock. Officers of the company com-pany are Mr. Woolley, William Spry, vice president; Ben C. Rich, secretary; Edwin G. Woolay and V. I. Arnold, additional directors. Mr. Woolley is heavily Interested in sugar companies in Utah and is president presi-dent of the West Cache Sugar company. com-pany. The deal consummated yesterday marks the withdrawal of James Pin-gree Pin-gree from the sugar industry. The first deed filed was from the Hooper Sugar company by Job Pin-gree, Pin-gree, father of James PIngree, as president, presi-dent, and James H. Riley, cashier of the Pingree National bank, as secretary, secre-tary, to Ernest R. Woolley, ' The second sec-ond deed was from Mr. Woolley to the Interstate Sugar company. E. F. Tib-bey Tib-bey of Salt Lake filed the deeds with the county recorder shortly after noon. The sale puts an end to the various rumors which have been in circulation for some time regarding the disposition disposi-tion of these properties. Both deeds stated the consideration as one dollar. The first bore revenue stamps to the amount of S400, indicating indi-cating a possible price for the property of $400,000. nn 32 Cars En Route Here Bringing Bring-ing Material for Ogden Plant Thirty-two cars of steel are due to arrive in Ogden within the next few weeks for the Ogden arsenal, according accord-ing to Captain W. P. Kat, in charge of construction for the war department. Ono car load of steel arrived yesterday and was unloaded at tho local railroad yards. Fifty motor trucks of two ton capacity will be placed in use after the construction work Is started It is 3ald. When the plans for the arsenal arc completed the government will employ more than 1000 men at the plant and it Is probable that duo to lack of labor la-bor material hero many of that number num-ber will have to be Imported.
