Show Bull Sale Opens In Cedar City Mondavi All Is in readiness for Utah's first annual Top Quality" Hereford Here-ford bull sale scheduled Dec. 5 and 6 at the Southwest Livestock Show sales barn In Cedar City, according to sale officials. The sale Is under the sponsorship sponsor-ship of the Utah Hereford Assn., Iron County Catlemen's Assn., and the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce. Only the best Hereford Here-ford bulls In Utah will be sold, according to Sncll Swenson, Spanish Spa-nish Fork, sale manager. One hundred-plus head of bulls, representing the top herds and leading bloodlines of the state, will be graded and sifted Monday morning, Dec. 5. Cattle from such herds as Mil-holm Mil-holm Herefords, Salt Lake City; Wlnterton Bros. Herefords, Ka-mas; Ka-mas; Peterson Brothers, Ogden; Verl Peterson, Gunnison; Olson Brothers, Ferron. and Clair W. Judd Herefords, Springville, have been consigned. Grading will be conducted by a representative of Utah State University Extension Service, and officers of the Iron County Cattlemen's, Assn. will Insure buyers getting sound, healthy bulls ready for use on the range or In a purebred herd. The three men named to aid In grading the bulls Dec. 5 are Waldon Isom, Cedar City; E. S. Gardner, St. George, and Wendell Wen-dell Brooksby, Cedar City veterinarian. veter-inarian. Following the grading of bulls the visiting consignors and buyers buy-ers will be taken on a guided tour of the College of Southern Utah campus and the Iron mines the evening with CSU students providing the entertainment. As a special feature of entertainment enter-tainment for visiting officials and exhibitors a banquet will be staged on Monday evening by ,the Iron County Cattlemen's As-men's As-men's banquet Is scheduled in west of Cedar City. This will be the annual meeting meet-ing of the local cattlemen's association, asso-ciation, with the gathering serving serv-ing as the annual meeting of the lassoclatlon. Entertainment will! be the feature of the evening,' with only one major matter of (business coming before the membership. mem-bership. Two directors of the association as-sociation will be elected, the terms of Richard Leigh and Carl Harrison having expired. A nom inating committee will distribute ballots to members as they enter. en-ter. After balloting tabulations will be made and the results announced an-nounced before the close of the meeting. Officers of the association are especially anxious to have the association well represented at the banquet, and urge every member and all cattlemen eligible eligi-ble for membership to make every effort possible to be present. pres-ent.
