Preliminary data from the first half of 21X13 indicated that the cost of providing services for people needing charitable medical services at IHC facilities increased 30 percent compared to tlic same time period in 2(K)2. Thompson said a central part of IIIC's mission is to provide care to Inlermountain area residents with a medical need, regardless of ability to pay. "Most people have insurance or funding to pay for the care they receive," said Thompson. "But if someone needs help, we provide care on a charitable basis."
