The thief who entered the Restaurant by the back door, after knocking off the locks, apparently crawled over the floor to the money boxes near the front of the building, which was auite well lighted. Had the thief raised off' the floor some three feet he would have seen the open cash register with approximately $375 more that was left untouched. The thief apparently knew of the money boxes and went directly to them while keeping low and near the floor out of sight. City Marshall Alvin Jones said that he had checked the Restaurant after the last bus had gone south at about 3:15 that morning. The robbery was discovered at 6 a. m. New Years day by an employee reporting to work. Owners of the Restaurant. Mr, and Mrs. M. W. Beard were in Las Vegas at the time of the robbery and their daughter Lois Marie was In charge. Marshall Jones told the S.U.N. late Thursday that finger prints had been found and law officers are checing out several leads, with possibilities of finding the buglar quite probable.
