Barnyard Boo Farm Country will he held Mondays in October from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 8 p.m. and UEA weekend Oct, 28 and 29 from noon to 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person and $20 for a family pass of up to six people. Children under the ages of two are free and extra activities cost only a dollar. Farm Country is the perfect per-fect place for the kids to enjoy the Halloween season. sea-son. Activities in the Barnyard Barn-yard Boo include Halloween crafts and games, decorating decorat-ing cookies, a haunted hay ride with the Headless Horseman, entertainment, a costume contest and much more. Spooky tales Spooky tales will be held in the Children's Discovery (lardrns Mondays and Saturday Sat-urday from G to 8 p.m. for $5 for adults and $3 for kids. The 5th annual spooky talcs storytelling festival kicks off this October at Thanksgiving Points Children's Chil-dren's Discovery Gardens. The (larden open at 6 p.m. with musical entertainment, enter-tainment, garden exploration, explo-ration, hot chocolatedonuts and scarecrow viewing. Spooky fun story telling in the outdoor amphitheater at the Hug Stage by members mem-bers of the Utah Story telling Guild will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Gardens close immediately after. Discovery Discov-ery and season passes are not valid for this activity. Museum super Saturdays Satur-days Runs every Saturday in October from 10 a.m. to noon The museum is hosting children's activities every Saturday. These activities are free with admissions tickets to the exhibit or Mammoth Screen Theater. Activities include: Oct. 2, face painting; Oct. 9, Halloween Hal-loween crafts; Oct. 16, pumpkin painting; Oct. 23., Halloween cookie decorating; decorat-ing; and Oct. 30, an old-fashioned old-fashioned Halloween party. She will perform Robert Schumann's Piano Concerto in A Minor, Op. 54. The orchestra, under the baton of Bryce Rytting, will also play Dvorak's "Carnival" "Carni-val" Overture and present its premiere performance of Brahms' Symphony No. 3 in F Major, Op. 90. Concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Thurs-day, Oct. 13 and 14, in the Provo Tabernacle, 100 S. University Ave. Tickets at the door are $5 per person and $15 for a family. Season tickets will also be available at the door. Janove, an active recital-ist, recital-ist, soloist and chamber musician who is on the faculty fac-ulty at Westminster College and the University of Utah, studied piano and cello at Chicago Musical College at Roosevelt University. She received master's and doctorate doc-torate degrees at Indiana University in piano performance. per-formance. Having performed under Rytting's baton in the Assembly Hall on Temple Square, Janove said she's excited to work with him again. "I think he's a wonderfully won-derfully well-rounded musician," musi-cian," she said. Rytting, who was a guest conductor of the BYU Chamber Orchestra in that Mozart bicentennial concert more than a decade ago, said he likewise enjoyed working with Janove and wanted to introduce her to Utah Valley audiences. "She was hungry to do that concerto," he said, adding that the Schumann Concerto Concer-to in A Minor is "a huge challenge to conduct." Janove appears frequently frequent-ly with the Opus Orchestra, Nova Chamber Music series, Vivaldi Candlelight Series, Maurice Abravanel Distinguished Composer Series and Madeleine Festival Festi-val of the Arts. She has also collaborated with the Emily Theatre Company as music arranger and cellist and received the YMCA Outstanding Out-standing Award in Arts and Communications. The October concert is the first of five regular season sea-son offerings from the Utah Valley Symphony.
