A largo shipment of tools and benches for tho manual training department de-partment has arrived and tho now shop will bo woll equipped. Forgo work and advanced carpentry will bo taught this year. At 2 p. m. on Friday all tho students gathered In the assembly room to show their respect to tho aged fathers and mothers of Cedar City. The old folks very much enjoyed the muslcale which was rendered for them. It consisted of a piano duet., piano bolo, ladies' chorus und cornet solo. They were then turned over to the polico force und wero piloted pilot-ed about tho building. In the late examination in chemistry a number of students became discouraged discour-aged and are trying to petltlou out of It. Most of tho class enjoy tholr laboratory labor-atory work on Tuesdays atidThiirodayw. Six oxporlmcnts have been porformed by the students, and nearly all are real (successful iu producing oxygon und hydrogen. Instructor Ward Is on hand to suggest and-help in every way. Hallowe'en was a jolly time for tho normal students. Tho llrst year's visited visit-ed "Squaw Cave" eastof town in the afternoon af-ternoon and got some ghostly spirit to use at tho party which thoy held at Mr. Knoll's that evening. Tho second year's enjoyed their trip to Enoch oven tho they had to pass tho gravevard. Third year's held their entertainment at tho residence of Wllford Cox. Lively games wero carried on uutil 11:30, when supper was served. Strangn to say an old witch was found among the ghosts of tho street, who told all the wonderful fortunes of students. Giost stories were doled out with lights burned burn-ed low atid a speech on class patriot-Ism patriot-Ism ended the evening's entertainment. |
