Show SUDDEN DEATH Of F A PINHR JOHN B BENNION STRICKEN BY APOPLEXY AOPLEX Resident of Taylorsville and Well Known Throughout the State Active In Utahs Early History John R Bennion well known throughout the county and state as a pioneer of 17 died very suddenly at I his residence at Taylorsville last Saturday Satur-day After doing some outdoor work he came into the house and sat down to read a newspaper While reading he was seized by apoplexy and expired in five minutes Deceased was born at Liverpool in 1840 and was a son of the late Bishop Samuel Bennion and a cousin of Har din Milton and Heber Bennion He took an active part in the early history of the state and was a member of the military expedition to Snake river sent out ot protect the overland mails from Indian attacks He assisted in founding found-ing the settlement of Vernon in Tooele I county in 1SC2 and in 1S73 was a nem 1ar l of the company sent to establish settlements in Arizona His principal princi-pal occupation has been farming and livestock business and he has been connected con-nected with many canal and othor enterprises en-terprises A wife and six children survive I sur-vive him Funeral services will be held at the Taylorsville meetinghouse Wednesday at 10 a m |
