Show GOOD RECORD OF COUNTY has but few ca cases ses of contagion doctors differ in interpretation of city health regulations gu lations sevier county has fewer cases of contiguous disease in proportion to its population it is 13 said than any other county in tile the st state ate standing stin ding the fact that mcatic are more or less prevalent in ill the larger 1 irger communities muni ties and a few contagion of a more senous natuis have been cepo le ported arted last week dr G 11 II herbert the city physic nn rin discovered two new c aises of typhoid the patients ire mccarty a age e 8 the son of mi ali and mrs mr homer mccarty and glide clyde rou poulsen lsen the 5 icar ear old son of mr air and mis peter poulsen both are arc said to be mill mild cases it is 13 said that thre arc now about twenty five cases of measles in the cly which means less thin one percent of the mou lation and this is looked upon as being a remarkable tribute to the be healthful condit ons of this locality there seems to be a difference of opinion among local physicians as to the proper of the city ordinances in regard to the regulations for sume some of the doctors maintain that measles is a mild and comparatively incommunicable f form orm of contagion while others hold bold that although it is not a dangerous disease it is nevertheless a source of considerable annoyance and all cases should be rigidly quarantined the ordinances which provide for the treatment of patients infected with contagion do not make any specific mention of measles but deal dea I 1 with anith contagious diseases in general and this leaves the decision to the judgment of the attending physician section of the city ordinances is in substance as follows it shall be the duty of every physician in this community to report to the mayor in dirting ting every person who is afflicted with any contagious disease after he shall have ascertained the nature of the disease and shall report to the same officer every case of death from any of said diseases immediately after it occurs it is ib further provided that no person excena a physician attending upon or otherwise coming in contact with any of the contagious diseases recognized by the ordinances ball without the permission of the board of health mingle min gle with ith persons who are not af dieter dieted with the disease the penalty for violating Mo Nio lating any of these cio mo visions is a fine not ec exceeding ceding or imprisonment not to exceed atys e 01 both fine and imprisonment dr H K neil was called to joseph last week to attend to some of h his is patients and while lie he was in ill that city he s ays the marshal posted twenty two notices of 01 houses in which there were patie suffering suf lenng ering from meas measles les with the exception of the settlement mentioned and monroe llon roc where there are a few cases of spinal meningitis the county is said to be comparatively free from disease |
