Are you sure you recognize the difference between a symbolic expression" and a statement of purpose? Your colleague in the House, Marjorie Holt, spoke forcefully on the significance of the words contained in the key plethora of banalities strung together by Henry Commager and pointed to this passage The economy of all nations is a seamless web, and that no one nation can any longer effectively maintain its processes of production and monetary systems without the necessity for recognizing collaborative regulation by international authorities " Just how sovereign will our Nation be, Mr. Aspin, when international Congress allows authorities our to regulate production and monetary system? You should know that the World Federalists are among the sponsors of the Declaration of Interdependence and James Paul Warburg, active in that subversive organization, made this statement before the Senate February 17, 1950: We. shall have World Government whether or not we like it. The only question is whether World Government will be achieved by conquest or consent. Do you suppose he was discounting the necessity of conand relying on naive quest congressmen to give consent by endorsing statements they carelessly assume are merely symbolic expressions for world peace and security? H. L. Richardson State Capitol Sacramento, CA 95814 Dear Mr. Richardson: About two and one half years ago we received a copy of "The Councilor ", a newspaper printed by Mr. Ned Touchstone at 1827 Texas -- Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103. In this issue was an article on how the voting machines for electeions can and more than likely are rigged to throw an election. We mailed this article to Mr. Reagan, who was Governor at that time. We received absolutely no response to our letter. We thought perhaps you might be interested in obtaining Then maybe this information. something can be done to eliminate them from our voting system, if they can be this easily controlled or set like a pinball machine. Yours for God and Country, so-call- ed April 22, 1976 The Utah Independent Page 3 my adrenalin. I believe Ive heard something about 3 1 or 32 states that have had their constitutions and passed thats about two thirds of our states, isnt it? The reasons I've heard for their having been rewritten dont make much sense could you explain this to me? Then I keep hearing about this Regionalism thing and a new proposed federal Constitution. I read that new proposed constitution and it is real difficult for me to understand I can understand our ON COURSEi ' DOES original constitution all right, and it seems to me that the last 200 years have proved beyond any doubt that it's a jim dandy. Somebody told me the other day that it sounds like an instrument for a socialistic dictatorship. I seem to remember that this great Christian Constitution and Bill of Rights was written BY AND FOR THE PEOPLE but I get the feeling at times that a lot of things are going on up there in Washington that the people are not being told about. If you would be so kind. Id like for you to send me some of their names and Ill try and explain to them that they are treading in dangerous water. Benjamin Franklin said that the Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution as a definitive explanation of the peoples rights and that it could never be changed or amended, yet I keep hearing about taking the people's guns away from them. How in the world can the people protect themselves from criminals without any guns? Franklin even said that we might need them to save our constitution some day if we didn't keep a sharp eye on the people we elected, and old Ben was a mighty smart man. Another thing Ive heard about lately is a bill called H. J. Res. 606 that has something to do with establishing an Atlantic Convention, a new Declaration of interdependence, etc. Have you heard about it yet? Mr. Albert, since these rumors have blown all the way to Texas, Im sure that you too have heard about them. I want you to write me a personal letter, if you will please (not one of those form letters that some representatives send their constituents), and explain the significance of some of these rumors Ive been talking about. Mr. Albert, I realize that you are kept mighty busy up there in Washington . watching after the peoples interests, but please take time to answer my letter and I will tell all my friends what you have to FEDERAL SPENDING ECONOMY? STIMULATE Captain Joe H. Ferguson THE OLD LIBERAL LINE Ever since I was bom, in the Recovery era of Franklin D. Roosevelt's administration, I have been told and retold that federal spending is the way to Get the economy moving. And, I will admit that I did believe it for a while up until about age eight. Since that time, I have started to do some thinking on my own. And you know I have come to figger out that things just aint the way the politicians have been tellin' it to us! Now, it might not be clear whether the politicians who have been telling us this are stupid or crooked or both. But one thing is clear 1they are wrong! Big-Spend- THIS IS HOW IT IS Excessive government spending not only does not create jobs, it destroys them. The politicians old line is that while federal spending might not be the most efficient kind of spending, but the very fact that the money is spent creates work and jobs and therefore is beneficial to the There are a few very important facts they conveniently omit, however. One undeniable fact is that when the government spends money, this money must come from somewhere. Now, the government has two methods of obtaining money. It can raise it from taxes, or it can borrow it. When taxes are increased, then the amount they are increased is taken from the taxpayers and, obviously, the purchasing power of the taxpayers is decreased by the same amount. Thus, the economy is depressed and jobs are destroyed. When government spending exceeds government income, a deficit results. That deficit is paid for by borrowing from the private market or from selling government debt instruments to the Federal Reserve. In. the first case, borrowing by the government obviously depletes the amount of capital available for investment and consumer needs. This depresses the economy and destroys jobs. In the second case, when the Federal Reserve purchases debt instruments from the government, it does so by increasing the money supply. This causes inflation which also depresses the economy and robs everyone of their savings and purchasing power of their incomes. The truth is, folks, that a Reckless Congress is spending us into bankruptcy and insolvency. That's the problem. But, fortunately, it is a problem which has a solution. The solution is to replace those members of the Congress who are the big spenders. And since this is an election year, lets all get to work and get the job done! ec-noo- say. I dont pretend to be very smart, but if any of these rumors that I have been hearing are true, .theres got to be some mighty ignorant Representatives up there trying to sneak some things over on us. Dont they realize that when the 100,000,000 Red blooded American Citizens find out about these things they are going to be awfully mad. I wouldnt think of betting on a horse with that sort of odds against him. I heard some people down on the corner the other day saying that Brown E. Raymond they thought that any elected or apCrescent Gty, CA 95531 pointed official of our government that didnt live up to their oath of BY AND FOR THE PEOPLE office or performed any act of The Hon.
