He soon learned where the "ship wrecks" were and would take clients out to the sights to dive. Mr. DiBartola often dove for "game" with clients. They were taught how to spear a fish and collect lobster, abalone and crab. In 1974 Mr.DiBartola took over his father's Consumer Foods Marketing business for eight years. "Being the oldest son in an Italian family he explained that he felt it his duty to help until the business could be sold. This was but one of many businesses he operated during his career as an aeronautical engineer. In 1983 he retired as an aeronautical engineer. He and wife Carol had raised five children-thr- ee girls and two boys. Being on their own in Downy, California they decided to retire in the mountains. They chose the Uintah Basin over New Mexico and Colorado. According to Mr. DiBartola their plan was to live six months on their 45 foot boat, and six months in a cabin in the mountains. Mr. DiBartola designed and built a cabin near Tabiona, using local wood rough cut at the Hanna Sawmill.
