Show rn yr IER tL AND D SISTER REUNITED AFTER SL SIXTY FOUR TY YEARS PEARS Reunion In tho the city cUy of Salt Lake of a brother and sister separated from each other for a period of sixty four years ears each being for more than half a century without knowledge of the circumstances or whereabouts of the tho other was the unique experience experience experience ence that last Jast week was the good fortune of Mrs Clara Bartlett Burton Burton Burton Bur Bur- ton 83 year years of age and Elijah Bartlett her broth brother 72 years of age When the tho younger brother EIjah EliJah Elijah Eli Eli- i Jah was but 8 years of or age Clara Bartlett then theu 18 left loft the home of her parents In England to Join a Mormon formon company that emigrated to Salt Lake Three years later she married Isaac Burton a Utah pioneer pioneer pioneer pio pio- neer and andi moved to Ashley valle valley now Vernal where she has has' since re- re sided elded Elijah Bartlett brother said that so 80 far tar as he knew hiss his elder sister kept up no communication with her parents and family and that after atter the death O of his parents he ceased for many years years' to make any search for his sister believing her to have been boen long dead He followed the trade of working in various cities In is England until 1910 when he left his bis native land for Toronto Canada and made his Ills home there for nine years In 1919 he removed to Canton Canton Canton Can Can- ton Ohio where he obtained a position position po po- with an oil company He was then Impelled to begin a search Bearch f for r his missing sister of whom he knew only that she had gone west with Mormon missionaries when he was but a small boy lIe He wrote to the Mormon church authorities in Salt SaIt Lake and after several weeks received l ed word that the were unable unable unable un un- able to locate the missing woman t i But Dut said Mr Bartlett the church had the letter that I wrote f published In several papers and ear car early early ly this summer I received word from froma a neighbor of my sister living at Vernal that she was alive and well there there I was then able to get into correspondence with her then I came from Canton to 10 Utah and her eldest son Isaac named for his father took her to the residence of her daughter Mrs 1 Joseph McKee Eighth East street Salt Lake I i 0 o o |
