Tuesday at noon the Senate and House tun meet, in their respective chambers and proceed to the election of a United fctates Senator to succeed Hon. Fred T. .DubolE, whose term expires In March. In the Senate. Hon. W. E. Borah, the Republican Re-publican caucus nominee, will be placed m nomination by Senator Hart, and Mr Dubois, the Democratic caucus nominee! Vi...be ,P,accd Jn nomination by Senator Whltweil. In tne House, Representative Cavanagh will name Mr. Borah and Representative Rep-resentative Frcehafer will present Mr. Dubois. Just Announce Vote. A joint session will be held at noon on Wednesday to canvass the vote taken separately and announce the result. No vote will be taken in joint session, for tho reason that Mr. Borah will receive a majority ma-jority of the votes cast In each house the previous day. The Joint committee appointed by Gov. Gooding and General Manager Bancroft of the Oregon Short Line, to investigate the coal shortnge here, has held three sessions during tthe pjst twenty-four hours, the last one this forenoon. Many witnesses testified, showing rather a serious se-rious condition, especially among the poorer people. Members of the committee visited several homes of the poor and , found cases of suffering. The State Woolgrowers" association will ' convene in annual session here tomorrow and continue three days.
