X'jOF Mr. Gnehm, the dog policeman, has reported to us that the dog problem is before us again. It is an aggravating problem, because the owner of dogs becomes very much attached to his pet and his dog could not do anything wrong. A dog, although raised in and about the house, is still an animal and some times he may become vicious and do injury to people he is not infected. Rabies is 100 percent fatal to both man and animals. There is no cure. Of those who are bitten by rabid dogs, only about fifteen to twenty percent develop the disease. The early use of vaccine (Pasteur treatment) has reduced the number who develop the disease to less than one gJune Subscription rates: Outside County, one year 62 00; Inside Cache County. 11.50. Mr. Gnehm reports that just recently a newspaper delivery boy was bitten and the dog i3 being held for further investigation as to whether or not it may be affected with rabies. He also reports that an elderly lady, 7G years old, was knocked down and hurt by three dogs. The owner of one of the dogs immediately asked the policeman to kill it. We think the attitude of this owner is very commendable and if all owners could throw' away their personal likings to their pets when they become dangerous there would be little need of complaint. Each year we read of dogs contracting the animal disease of rabies so every precaution should be taken to prevent its spread for there is danger in it. Following are a few facts in relation thereto: Rabies is a disease of animals which may be transmitted to man through the bite of an infected animal. Both domestic, and wild animals may become !
