Charles Boren of Provo narrowly escaped death Sunday at the East Tlntic Coalition mine when a rock dropped as he was going down the shaft and struck him in the forehead. He was knocked unconclous by the blow. Fellow workmen assisted him to the surface and he was taken to Provo Sunday evening.
