Show On Utah County Farms With The Extension Agent UTAH HATCHERIES COOPERATE COOPER-ATE FOR BETTER CHICKS ) More interest is being taken in the breeding and hatching of poultry poul-try in Utah this year than ever before, according to Carl Frisch-knecht, Frisch-knecht, extension poultryman of the U. S. A. C. Civic clubs, feed, poultry, and egg marketing organizations, or-ganizations, not only are exhibiting exhibit-ing a more keen interest in this industry, but the breeders and hatchorymen themselves are putting put-ting forth extra effort to develop and foster a flock improvement program that will result in more and better Utah-hatched chicks in the future. Last fall, the National Uniform Breeding program was adopted at the annual meeting of the Utah Hatchers and Breeders association, associa-tion, and most of the hatcheries in the state are now conforming to the requirements that are set forth in the national plan. Briefly, the breeding program in Utah this season calls for a careful selection of all the birds in the breeding pens on the basis of vigor, vitality and their ability to produce a large number of good sized marketable eggs, and for the blood testing of these birds for pullorum disease. This work, as well as the inspection in-spection of the individual hatcher-ii'S hatcher-ii'S throughout the hatching sea son, is under joint supervision of the state board of agriculture and the Utah State Agricultural college. col-lege.
