Show Suddcu Deaths ChicAgo 17Colonel Henry W Far rar who was on General Sedgwicks staff during tbe war and for ten years previous to March 1SSO was managing editor of the Chicago Evening Journal was found dead in his bed at his titters house this city this morning Colonel Farrar distinguished himself by gallantry during tho war nnd at its close was brevetted colonel Ho was a close personal per-sonal friend General Sheridan in whose company for the last year he had spent the greater part of his time except wbeo away m the mountains inspecting mining regions He was at a private dinner of tho Chicago Club last night until a late hour and returned home early this morning morn-ing speaking to his sister on enteiiajc the house He retired immediately to bed m which he was found dead this morning I morn-ing A coroner < inquest was held and death was pronounced tbe result of apoplexy apo-plexy J w Humble a young Eogliihman aged 30 was found in his room at the Lelana house this city with his throat cut tbe right jugul rvein being severed Ho came biro from London England last July and appeared to be a man ofl good family and considerable wealth The cause of the suicide is supposed to have been financial embarrassment resulting re-sulting from unfortunate gambling and stock speculation He still had 2 500 left of a much larger sum brought hither With him last summer btl |
