Show The east mountains are covered with ' Bnow. j 3; ' This is the sort of weather that! makes one wonder what he has done with his summer's wages. The heavy downpour of rain last night was a godsend. The ground is now well saturated and the weather can now freeze up and the snow pile mountain high if it likes; the ground will be in excellent condition to receive re-ceive the moisture on the return of warm weather next spring and another season's good crops aie insured. Colonel, and Mas. J. L. Baetow went to Grand Junction today. The colonel has some property interests in Grand Junction to look after and other business to attend to, and he may be absent from Provo until Monday next. A lot of words expressing neither sense nor nonsense, horribly mouthed and unintelligbly articulated, a little bill and bang, two shapely girls, one other girl, and four men, all with cracked voices and trying to sing, is what was dished up to a fair sized audience au-dience at the opera house last night and called "Jolly Old Chums." Where this aggregation got its license to tor- Iment the public nobody seems to know. There ia one redeeming feature in the performance there is not much of it. |
