PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC OF PUBLIC HEARING PROCESS AND AVAILABILITY OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDY On the proposed reconstruction and improvements to U. S.. Highway 89 from the 1-15 Interchange in Farmington, Davis County to Harrison Boulevard in South Ogden, Weber County Project No. F-030(10)The Utah Department of Transportation herewith advises all interested persons or groups that it proposes the reconstruction and improvement of U. S. Highway 89 from the 1-15 Farmington Interchange in Davis County to Harrison Boulevard in Weber County, Project No. F-030(10). Three build alternatives are proposed. Alternative 1 is a six-lane freeway with interchanges. Alternative 2 (preferred alternative) is a six-lane expressway with interchanges. Alternative 3 is a signalized six-lane expressway with limited right-in and right-out accesses. The extension of Burke Lane westerly to connect with Clark Lane is a part of all three build alternatives. Frontage roads will also be constructed to provide local connections to main access points along U. S. 89. The proposal calls for the acquisitions of from 122 to 198 hectares of additional right of way. The relocation of from 15 to 27 businesses and from 109 to 202 residences will be required. The governing officials of Davis and Weber counties and the cities of South Ogden, South Weber, Layton, Kaysville, Fruit Heights, and Farmington, and the Town of Uintah are aware of this project. The public is herewith advised that a public hearing process conducted by the Utah Department of Transportation to discuss the Environmental Study prepared for this project and the location features of the proposed improvements will begin with an Open Forum Hearing on Saturday, December 9, 1995 in the Northridge High School, Commons Area, 2430 North Hillfield Road, Layton, Utah, where interested persons may call anytime between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.. At this time the public will have an opportunity to see an overview of the project considerations will be able to consult several project experts in an open house type environment. The Open Forum Hearing will be followed by a formal Public Hearing in the Northridge High School, Auditorium at 4:00 p.m. Information to be presented will include a discussion of the location alternatives considered. Appropriate illustrative materials will be available for inspection.
