Mr. in much gratified hearing on new lecture his deliver Siayner "Ameiican Iluiiior," last evening, in the Fourteenth Ward Assembly Rooms, Gilbad's New Lkcturr. Salt Lake City, under the auspices of the Legislative Assembly. The lecture consists of a humorous biographical sketch of lie lives of Mark' Twain, Josh BiliiDgs, Datibury News man, Artemus Ward and Petroleum V. Nasby, illustrated with large portraits of these gentlemen, and interspersed with leadings from their productions. But the lecture is original in its "get up," and bears the marks of the lecturer's genius from beginning to end. As an entertainment bath amusing and instructive, it has a grand success. Hon. Wilford Woodruff was elected chairman of the evening. The fine hall was crowded, and the lecture was thoroughly appreciated, the speaker being applauded at frequent intervals. It is probable that our city will be favored with a visit from the lecturer, when the Ogdenites may expect to spend a pleasant evening with the princes cf American humor. 1 - Red Canon Coal.
