The two young people were united unit-ed in marriage at the. Logan temple tem-ple Friday, December 19, with President Joseph Quinney officiating officiat-ing at the ceremony Miss Smith is a former student of the USAC at Logan and is a private secretary in the Highway Planning department at "he Capitol tntildilig in Boise. Mr. Choules is a graduate of the University of Idaho at Moscow and since his graduation has been with the Bur-V Bur-V roughs company as an auditor with headquarters at Spokane, Wash. The Smith home was the scene of an open house reception given by the bride's parents for relatives and a few close friends of the families fam-ilies following the wedding Friday evening. Colorful seasonal decorations decora-tions and cut flowers were used throughout the home. Mr. and Mrs. Smith were assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Choules in receiving the many guests. The bride displayed a lovely trousseau and Miss LaPriel Palmer presided at the dining table. Sisters of the bride and groom, assisted k " Miss Palmer with the serving. ' Immediately following the reception recep-tion the newlyweds left for a short honeymoon trip. Following the holiday season they plan to make their home in Spokane. Gwen was honored by Miss LaPriel La-Priel Palmer Wednesday evening at a social which Included eleven girl friends. The guests were served a dinner from a table cen-tered cen-tered with a miniature Christmas scene and tiny red scrolls which were used as placecards were later I filled out with advice to the bride, j elect from the individual girls. Games which followed placed, Miss LaRue Anderson as score winner for the evening. A gift of roseville pottery was given the honored guest. PHYLLIS GAMBLE, DON FORSGRE.N MARRIAGE The marriage of Miss Phyllis Gamble, Gam-ble, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernor Gamble, and Don Forsgren, son of Mayor and Mrs. Clili'ord Forsgren was solomlzed in the Logan temple December 17 with Joseph Daines officiating. The ceremony was witnessed by the groom's father, Mayor Forsgren, and grandfather, Joseph H. Fuhri-man Fuhri-man ofi Providence, Utah. Immediately following the ceremony cere-mony the bridal party and close friends were guests at a wedding reception held at the home of Mrs. Carl Felix in Logan. Thursday morning the newlyweds left for a short honeymoon trip and upon their return will make their home here. Mrs. Gamble entertained at a tea last Sunday afternoon for her daughter who displayed a lovely trousseau to her friends. Mrs. Letha MicKnight assisted her sister sis-ter in the trousseau rooms. Mrs. Keith Campbell acted as toastmk tress of the party and I responses were made by members of the club. Program numbers included a Christmas story by Mrs Carve! Campbell; violin selection, Mrs. G. L. Tanner, accompanied by Mrs. Thatcher Handley; piano solo, j Mrs. Donna Noyes. Gifts were ex-i ex-i changed. ! Hand painted cards of Christmas ! designs and verses marked places i for the ladies at the table from which a turkey dinner was served by Mrs. Angus Condie, Mrs. Thatcher That-cher Handley and Mrs. Elmo Keller. Neff Boothe Thursday afternoon when ladies of the Literary club were her guests. Special vocal numbers were given giv-en by Mrs. Elda Carlson who was accompanied by Mrs. Anna Moore at the piano. The review of the book. "The Fun I've Had," by Bayard Veiller was charmingly given by Mrs. Mildred Bowden. Luncheon was served by Mrs. Boothe to twenty ladies including Mrs. Carlson, Mrs. Moore and Mrs. C. J. Peterson as special guests of 1 .1, PETERSON SISTERS BIRTHDAY CLUB HOLDS ANNUAL PARTY Members of the Peterson Sisters and Sisters-in-law Birthday club met Thursday evening to honor three members. The social was also their annual social which includes in-cludes the husbands of the ladies. Mrs. Mada Larsen, Mrs. Delia Crockett and Mrs. Wanda Morten-son, Morten-son, whose birthdays occurred this month were given tokens from the club. Parlor games were enjoyed and a delicious supper served to twenty-eight. Decorations and appointments in the Christmas theme were carried car-ried out in the home of Mrs. Ena Monson where the social evening was held. WEAVER SISTERS MOTOR TO LEWISTON FOR SOCIAL Mrs. Vivian Weaver of Lewiston 'was the honored member of the Weaver Sisters' club last Wednesday. Wednes-day. The group motored to her home In Lewiston to honor Mrs. Weaver on her birthday and spent the afternoon in quilting. Prize packages were awarded to Mrs. Harriet Bodily, Mrs. Weaver and Mrs. Kinnie Johnson. YOUNG MISSES ENJOY NO-HOSTESS PARTY . Five girls, Connie Jean Smith, Phyllis Hollingsworth, Clarice Con-die, Con-die, Mary Lou Maughan and Dorothy Doro-thy Nelson enjoyed a no-nostees party at the Nelson home Thursday evening and served themselves a CHRISTMAS PARTY MARKS FAMILY GATHERING ' The Weaver family held their Christmas party Thursday, December Decem-ber 18, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Hull, also honoring Roland Ro-land Hull and his new bride with a shower of gifts. Pete Jorgen-sen Jorgen-sen was a special guests. A huge tree was beautifully decorated dec-orated with tinsel, icicles and colored col-ored light around which carols and hymns were sung. " Allabell Hull conducted the program and prayer was offered by B. G. Weaver. Roll call was answered with sentiments from fifty members. A short talk was given by Vivian Weaver and a reading and rhyme song to the tune of Jolly Old St. Nicholas given by Jennie Holt. Gilbert Weaver spoke to the newlyweds and a story was given by Harriet Gilbert. A vocal solo by Lillian Weaver and a damatic reading by Roland Hull. Musical numbers came, from, two-piece two-piece orchestra of Marcus Weaver accompanied by step dancing of the little folks, with Sharon Steele and Gibbie Hull winning the prizes. A greeting from Kay Belnap of the aviation corps and Eugene Hull of the army were read to the family as was a message from Mr. and Mrs. Earl Weaver in Salt Lake City. Marcus Weaver dismissed the party after Christmas presents had been drawn by number from the tree. The parly par-ly featured a turkey dinner and games of bridge. Popcorn tree place cards added a novel touch to the dining table which was centered with reft and white sweet peas and candles. The score awards given included the evening's high score, which went to Mrs. Emily Foss, and table awards given to Mrs. Jennie Boyle Mrs. Alma Evans and Mrs. Sylvia Malmberg. TRAVEL AND HOBBY CLU5 HONORS MRS. CHRISTENSEN Travel and Hobby club ladies met Wednesday evening in honor of Mrs. Eliza Christensen at the home of Mrs. Millie Stephensen. A wedding skit by Mrs. Lillie Bingham Bing-ham and Mrs. Emma Davis contributed con-tributed much merriment for the ladies. A beautiful vase of roseville rose-ville pottery was given Mrs. Christensen. CLUB LADIES GUESTS AT TURKEY DINNER A turkey dinner was servea to ladies of the Clover Leaf club Friday Fri-day afternoon by Mrs. Bertna George at her home. The occasion was the annual Christmas party of the club and an exchange of gifts occurred around the lighted Christmas Christ-mas tree. Rook games were played with Mrs. Mildred Anderson and Mrs. Clara Hansen captured core awards. CO-HOSTESSES ENTERTAIN NEIGHBORS Mrs. Arthur Moser and Lorna Swainston celebrated their birth' day anniversaries by inviting a group of neighbors to the Mosei home Thursday evening and serving serv-ing a sumptuous chicken supper. SATURDAY NIGHT DINNER AT ALLEN HOME Mr. and Mrs. Harold Allen en tertained a group of friends Satur day evening at their home.
