Show Vacancies in First Signal Service Reported by Utah Recruiting Officer Colonel E. B. Grey, Utah District Recruiting Officer, has received word from Army heacquarters in San Francisco that there are now m sixty-five (65) vacancies in the First Signal Service Company, Seattle. Washington, for duty with the Alaska Communication System in Alaska. Qualified married men (as well as single) men may be accepted. They must be high school graduates gradu-ates who are' touch-typists with a speed of at least 20 words per minute, and who are capable of receiving radio code (International (Internation-al Morse Code) at fifteen (i5) words per minute for men under twenty-six years of age and eighteen eigh-teen (IS) words per minute for over twenty-six years of age. Any applicant who holds a First Class Commercial radio- ! telephone. First or Second Class Commercial radiotelegraph, or a Class "A" or "B" Amateur Li- : cense is acceptable, regardless of of radio code speed or typing j ahility. This is a fine opportunity for married men who are interested J in getting in the LTnited States i Army and for men who want to become trained in the radio and communication field which is expanding ex-panding so rapidly. Waiver, at this time, of married status of applicants for enlistment and assignment as-signment to the First Signal j Company with station in Alaska will not establish eligibility for reenlistment as a married man for service within the continental I limits of the United States fol- . lowing completion of service in Alaska. |
