B York Business and professional proCessional men of the community who participated earned our warm thanks Mr York said They discussed th e a problems of oC preparation how to get ahead in the workaday world the goals both available as to making a living and becoming an outstanding citizen PRIOR to the meeting all BITS students were surveyed and listed their vocational choices From their choices a panel of 21 vocational categories rate cate- genies gories were drawn up which were taught by 26 local author A total of oC students responded to the survey Most popular n a I 1 choice of oC the responding students stu stu- dents was teaching with I students followed by secretarial ial work 92 medicine 41 nursing 40 auto mechanic 34 beautician and commer commer- call artist both tied at 33 and lawyer 29 WE WERE surprised at atthe atthe the lack of interest in business careers Mr York noted after af- af tel ter the meeting Only 15 indi a desire for information in this field probably the largest and most promising vocational opportunity exist ing |
