Show TWO INJURED IN CARACCIDENT Two Bingham area youths were seriously injured Tuesday night when the automobile in which they were riding failed to negotiate a curve and plunged from the highway. Both victims were thrown from the convertible automobile moments before it crashed upside up-side down onto some nearby railroad tracks. The accident occurred oc-curred just off Utah Highway 48 about a mile east of Bingham a-bout a-bout 10:30 p.m. Injured were Russell Deakin, 18, Copperton, who suffered a fractured spinal disc, shoulder and left arm, and Max A. Merrill, Mer-rill, 18, Bingham, who suffered possible skull fractures and multiple mul-tiple head lacerations. The Deakin youth is reported in fairly good condition at St. Mark's Hospital where both were taken after emergency treatment at Salt Lake General Hospital. Mr. Merrill came home from the hospital yesterday. The eastbound auto in which the two youths were riding failed fail-ed to negotiate' a curve and traveled tra-veled out of control for 102 feet before leaving the highway and running another 100 or so feet into a roadside gulley. The two were thrown out of the machine just as it left the gully and toppled top-pled ontto the tracks. o |
