previous meeting were read and approved among the may bills presented was another big bill ot of dr W J bardsley for for inspection c and tacking up signs it was referred back tor for investigation at the may meeting this same doctor was allowed easy money for similar work the following bills and accounts were allowed city pay roll for may 1510 OC power and light co 08 the park record senate cafe request was waa granted BID NOT ACCEPTED upon the request ot or the council at its last meeting the morrison merrill lumber company submitted bids for car load lots of lumber after discussion it was decided not to purchase car load lots this season the street supervisor being instructed to purchase as needed BID TO REPAIR BAD NT T WALKS the following proposition was submitted by contractor john nyman I 1 am submitting herewith a 9 bid tor for taking out eighty tour four linear feet of 0 curbs curb gutter and sidewalk in front ot of S L radions Rad dons dolls residence on park avenue and replacing the same in good shape tor for the sum ot of this will include piers under rock wall so it will not crowd out tho the sidewalk 1 I also submit a bid for or removing eighty tour four linear feet of curb gutter and sidewalk sti ih front of W 1 P westfields West ields fields residence on park ave and replace the same with new work in good shape for the sum gum of forthe for the necessary gutter work along the sidewalk on the tramway I 1 will put in good shape tor for the sure sum of JOHN NYMAN the matter was referred to the committee committee on streets alleys and bridges for further consideration A A I 1 11 SAVING CITY OFFICIAL it takes all kinds of people to make a world and park city is not exempt from the peculiar kind some two years ago city physician bardsley sold his home on park avenue and since then he and his wife have made their home in the small office owned by the doctor on main alain street while said office is all hooked up tor for water because 0 the expense attached the thereto reto connections have never been made and the city physician has been carrying his water from the users who pay the regular monthly rental tor for same and without costing him a cent and in violation of 0 the law why the city physician who pulls down any anywhere wherefrom from forty to ninety five dollars easy money from the city every month has been allowed to la get water free and make lawbreakers of 0 his neighbors the record knows not the matter was broughm brought up in council at this meeting and indignation among the council prevailed at the cheapness th thereof and a motion unanimously cabied that bardsley be sent a bill for at least eighteen months water rent ordinances oRDINANCE 9 RELATING THERETO it may be well to call attention to the ordinances pertaining to such cases and to ask in all sincerity why violators have not been or are not now prosecuted according to law following are sections of the CRY city ordinances see sec IS 3 it shall be unlawful for any water taker to permit any person from other premises or any unauthorized person to use or obtain water from his premises or water fixtures either inside or outside of his building sec it shall be unlawful for any person but himself family or agents to use the water coming through taa water mains without first paying as hereinafter provided or without authority to open any stopcock stop cock valve or other fixtures attached to the system of water supply or to in any wise injure deface or impair any part or apparatus of the water works see penalty any person violating any of the provisions of thi this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon colv conviction petion thereof shall be punished by a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars or by imprisonment in n the city jail not exceeding one hundred lays days or by boi both th such bach fine and imprisonment |
