Layton Fire Chief Allan Peek said at about 10 a.m. firefighters responded to a fire just outside the back door of the restaurant at 1622 N. 1200 West, believed to be started by a disgruntled employee. Peek said the suspect lit a propane stove outside the back door of the restaurant and tipped it over next to the building before fleeing the scene. The burning stove caused about $500 worth of damage in melting some siding, he said. No one was injured. Peek said a warrant for the arrest of the suspect has been issued. Woman who claims unhappy with Investigation E-c- FARMINGTON - A Sandy woman, who claims she contracted the bacteria from a Bountiful fast-foo- d restaurant two years ago, intends to hound health officials to make sure it doesnt happen again. E-c- Dr. James H. Saunders, director of the Davis County Health Department, said the woman was never diagnosed with the disease and checks at the restaurant revealed no contamination. Because no citations were issued, Saunders declined to identify the restaurant. Gale Roberts, 45, isnt satisfied with what has been done and said she was treated rudely by health officials when she first made the complaint. Roberts has written letters to the county complaining of the way the issue has been handled and wants to make sure the restaurant passes periodic inspections. Roberts said she was on her way to Wyoming over Labor Day weekend 1996 when her party of 11 stopped at the restaurant to eat. Eighteen hours later she said she was seriously ill. Its not like I just had simple diarrhea and vomiting. I almost died, she said. Roberts said she went to a Wyoming hospital, where officials told her she had the flu. She said they never did a blood test and were unable to get a urine SALE specimen from her because she had kidney and liver failure. When she returned to Salt Lake the next day, Roberts said she was admitted to LDS Hospital where they told her she had hemolytic uremic syndrome of an unknown origin. STOREWIDE!
