Show School and the parents of the students stu-dents in their class last Thursday, March 22. The show was about how to attain and practice good citizenship citizen-ship and was well given. It was enjoyed en-joyed by all and students should be commended on how well they delivered de-livered the message of the show. Last Thursday, March 22, students stud-ents in Mr. Cook's and Mrs. Reading's Read-ing's classes at W. J. Elementary enjoyed an educational field trip to the BYU planetarium. He was 56 years old. He is survived by his widow, two sons and three daughters. About forty Boy Scouts and Beehive Bee-hive girls of West Jordan Third Ward held their balloon bust in Mutual Tuesday night. Balloon type games were played and refreshments refresh-ments served. The Gaynote class in West Jordan Jor-dan Fourth Ward Primary was divided di-vided last Tuesday with Mrs. Roene Russon as the new teacher with seven girls and Mrs. Violet Finlay-son Finlay-son keeping the remaining eight. Theodore Booth suffered a severe back injury Monday, March 26, when he fell from a nine-foot loading load-ing platform at the Midvale Smelter where he is employed. He is in St, Mark's Hospital. He will be hospitalized hos-pitalized ten days before a cast can be put on his back. Mrs. Norene Steadman is home and feeling better after spending two days, the first part of this week in LDS Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Ross W. Butterfield visited with Mrs. Patsy Meenen and Mrs. Maurine Nielson in Bingham Canyon Tuesday evening. Also other visitors at the Nielson home Tuesday evening were Alta Soren- sen, Marda Nielsen and Ruth Mitchell. Mitch-ell. Dave Erickson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Erickson, who is attending Dixie Jr. College at St. George, has been named on this year's 1CAC all-conference basketball club. A Stake Explorer party will be held in West Jordan Stake House Relief Society room next Tuesday night, April 3. Guest speaker will be Odell Stevenson and he will speak on "Clean Living." Engagement Revealed Miss Joan Rasmussen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Rasmussen of West Jordan, became engaged to Ferrell Kay Edwards, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Ferrell Edwards of Midvale. Mr. Edwards, her fiance, fi-ance, is serving duty at Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois. No date has been set by the couple for their mnrriage. Special awards were awarded to the boys of the ward that had attended at-tended 75 per cent of their church meetings. Fourteen awards were given out, ten of which were over 90 per cent and two of which were 100 per cent. Those receiving a-wards a-wards for pperfect attendance were Kent Brockbank and John Schorr. The West Jordan Stake Laurel girls had a practice Monday night, March 26, for their fashion show which is to be held on April 26. Vivian Halverson, stake Laurel leader, is in charge of the fashion show. Leading characters in the fashion show are Sharron Schmidt, Bonnie Jo Campbell and Jayne Carrigan. Claudia Butterfield attended a banquet with John Johnson at Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University Wednesday, March 28. Mr. Barben was going north on Redwood Red-wood Road when the car in front of him stopped to let Mrs. Ken Pender turn into her driveway and his pickup truck hit the rear end of the car in front of him. No one was hurt and damage was minor. The accident occurred just north of the laundermat. Injured was Arnold Ar-nold Webb, 41, of 263 E. 12300 South, who was reported in good condition at LDS Hospital Sunday evening. He suffered a fractured arm, fractured shoulder and bums on the arm. Deputy Sheriff Roy Retallick who investigated, reported report-ed that Mr. Webb was getting a load of silage when his truck became be-came mired in the mud on the floor of the silo and Mr. Webb got a tractor to free his truck from the pit. About a year ago Mr. Webb won a prize for a suggestion at Kennecott. He is a nephew of Wil-ford Wil-ford L. Webb of West Jordan and son of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Webb. ' Winners of trophies for the West Jordan Stake girls volleyball contest con-test were announced recently. The girls from West Jordan First Ward won the sportsmanohip trophy, and South Jordan won the participation award. Copperton Ward won the right to represent the stake in the playoff to be played April 5. Visiting recently with Mrs.' Fon-tella Fon-tella Dotson was her son, Richard, who is attending Dixie College at St. Ceorge. The Fur Breeders Ag. Coop will hold their annual dinner and business busi-ness meeting next Tuesday at the Prudential Federal Savings building in Salt Lake City. New officers are to be elected. After the business meeting the men and their wives will attend a supper after which an Emba meeting is planned. Mrs. Lena Wagstaff gave the lesson at West Jordan Third Ward Relief Society Tuesday. The social science lesson continued the discussion dis-cussion "Homemaking A Creative Calling." Its object -was to help women realize the necessity of continued con-tinued personal development and what a rich blessing motherhood is. It stated that homemaking is the sphere in which women can find most happiness and render most service. The lesson was well given and the women in the audience participated in the discussion.
