Show BMA FLASHES by Jim Abplanalp BDAA NINE HOLDS LEAD, GAINS SPLIT WITH MAGNA The local baseball squad took a firm grip on the Northwest loop lead the past week, by splitting split-ting a pair of games with Magna. Last Sunday the Bingham crew took a 5 to 0 trimming by Magna, as Lefty McFarland held the locals lo-cals to four scattered bingles. Kenny Austin and W. Sumnicht limited the visitors to 7 hits, but several miscues helped in their defeat. Wednesday night the locals lo-cals turned the tables on Magna as they garnered an 8 to 5 victory, vic-tory, in a game that was rained out earlier. John Byrge went the route for the BDAA club and held the Millmen to 7 hits. He was aided by some fine catches in the outfield, and went into the ninth inning with an 8 to 1 lead. This win put the locals out front of the race, with 5 wins and 2 losses PLAY AT SANDY TONITE Tonight Friday) the locals travel to Sandy for a night game with Doc Johnson's.
