During the week of the final s Craig Bryant Results of voting conducted in the Student Lounge have been announced by the of the Westminster Faere, Marie McCarthy and John McNaughton. The results are as follows: Lounge-T- am The conference, stiU in the planning stage, would be a realignment of the old Rocky Mountain Faculty Athletic Conference which was established in 1909. This would include schools from Utah (Westminster, CoUege of Southern Utah); Colorado (Colorado State CoUege, Colorado School of Mines, Western State CoUege, Adams State CoUege, Southern Colorado State CoUege, Regis CoUege, Fort Lewis College); New Mexico (New Mexico Highlands University, Eastern and Wester New Mexico universities); Kansas (Fort Hays State he Hogle Dungeon, HaUe, and the Music building -- Canterbury ConservaHaU-Baude- rye tory. The traditional King of Mardi Gras wiU be replaced by King Arthur and the twelve knights of the round table. The only election for the King and his knights wiU be held April 7 in the Student .Lounge. The name replacing Mardi Gras wiU be Westminster Faere. The main road to the campus CoUege, Kansas State CoUege of Pittsburg, Kansas State Teachers CoUege, Washburn University); and Nebraska (University of Omaha). Teams would be divided into two divisions, mountain and plains, and would compete in their choice of four out of seven sports. A program of air travel between competing schools is being worked out. from 17th South wiU be named Winchester Road, while the street leading from the lower parking lots will be labeled Drury Lane. Both Marie and John feel the street and building names will add not only a great deal of sparkle to the campus, but also the theme change itself wiH present the opportunity of having an exciting and unique event. Plans are now being formulated for an and old engHsh dinner, instead of the traditional international dinner, and the talent show wiU be in the troubador style of old England. Continuous entertainment wiU be provided and one major attraction wUl be fea- tured. Forms Due Soon Mrs. Coon reported that few students have applied for student loans for next faH. She said that forms must be fiUed out by this week for form process reasons. Dr. McDonald reminds students that forms for Summer Session wUl be ready by March 1st in the registrar's office. Tom Steinke, Westminster's basketbaU coach and head of the Physical Education Department, wiU attend a meeting in Denver to select a conference commis- sioner. The conference is scheduled have formu- lated some new plans for the Westminster Faere to be included with the old ideas t carried over from Mardi Gras. & 1 ij s' to begin operation in 1969. Students Remodel La! Under New Prof Enthusiastic Chem purchased, and everything received a new coat of paint. Dr. Fish added, Actually, the most expensive item in a project of this sort is labor. We had to hire a carpenter, but the rest of the work was done willingly by the students. We weren't going to do this much, but once we painted the cabinets we felt everything else should be painted, so we went to town. Dr. Fish gave credit to Ed Marlowe, MoUe Imlay, AUce George Ligeros Chemistry students at Westminster have a remodeled chemistry lab to work in, thanks to their hard work and the direction of the new chemistry profes- sor, Dr. Fish. Those who had seen the old chemistry lab can realize why , some work was needed to clean it up. It was pretty dismaL When asked about the project. Dr. Fish had this to say: This essentiaUy has been a group project. The administration paid for the materials, and we, meaning my students and myself, did most of the work. Mike MitcheU wiU open each discussion with a question and let the students in attendance continue with their own questioning. The purpose of these discussions is to give the students an opportunity to see what each candidate intends to do and what he bases his platform upon. FoUowing the final elections on March 10 there will be another required convocation to inaugur- Craig Bryant Now that petitions are in for SGAC elections there will be three required convocations on March 3, March 10 and 22 in conjunction with the elections. The first required convocation will be for primary elections. A week later the final election will be held with voting beginning immediately after both convocations. These two required convocations are designed to give the student body an opportunity to X A Dr. Remley Dr. R emeys Funeral Today Funeral services wiU be conducted at noon today for Dr. E. WiUiam Remley, pastor of Salt First Lake's Presbyterian Church and member of the Westminster CoUege Board of Trus- tees. Dr. Remley suffered a fatal heart attack Friday while playing handball at the YMCA gym- -' nasium. Dr. Remley was appointed a College trustee in 1966 and had been serving as chairman of the Academic Committee. He had actively been interested not only in the progress of Westminster but in its individual students as weU. He was a strong supporter of Westminster's athletic teams. Dr. Remley's daughter, Kathy, is a freshman at Westminster. native of Colorado, Dr. Remley held degrees from Colorado State University, McCormick Seminary, Northwestern University and the BibUcal Seminary of New York. He had held pastorates in Denver, Ames, Iowa and San Francisco, and had been a Navy Chaplain In World War H. He was a former treasurer of the Salt Lake Ministerial Assn., former director of the Greater Salt Lake YMCA, and was president of the Salt Lake Council of Churches.
