Standing at the door of the tomorrows, we inquiringly look back over the years to find in them some measure of security for our comunimty. Not all progress has been accomplished without reversals and heartaches. These come more or less by reason of disinterest in the very heart of that institution which is the bulwark and heritage of our forefathers who made posible the sancuary in which all men can find his peace and relief. It is said that only one percent of the average family time is spent in church of their choice and our charity toward this institution is most pitiable. It seems that there is time fore everything under the sun except the church, especiallly on Sunday. The very day chosen by God to be the day of rest. Fellowship with old friends and the making of new ones is the accomplishment of Sunday in your church. Worship there brings the family in closer touch with God and their fellow men, and creates a desire to be and do better things for the community. The church is that organ which has fostered much legislation commensurate with betterment; stood in the gap between right and wrong, and still holds out a welcoming hand to all who will hear her voice to come in: this is the house of the Lord; here find rest for your soul. The church stands for equality among all peoples and is the instrument through which the hungry are fed, the naked clothed and the poor given shelter. What other institution can equal that record? The question comes and well it does: How much have I given to support the church and help make the community a better place in which to live? Of what value is the ciiurch to you? Is it necessary that its doors the summer be closed during mer months and hold no place of comfort for those who cannot "take their vacation" av.ay from its doors.' Here let us be honest with ourselves. This is our home and a fine place it is to live, beautiful in every respeci. Yet the most valuable asset to our home community is being sabotaged by our very absence from its services. Shall this be so from YOUR point? Here an invitation is extended to all and sundry to attend the church of your choice After services of the morning your time is your own, but until you have given God at least one hour of IS time back in the attendance at worship in His house, you are not helping to make Midvale one whit better for the yet unborn generation. Come to any church next Sunday. The Community Met h o d i s t church invites you all. 1 1 CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH (Murray) Sunday Schedule: "The Importance of Confirmation" will be the theme of the sermon at Christ Lutheran church Sunday morning at 11 a. m.. Draper, Utah OPS director, said Monday. Mr Draper said that in spite of the program's critics a survey of livestock receipts at principal cattle markets discloses no great disruption of the industry. Receipts for July to date as percentages of the same period last year disclose the following: Cattle, 90 percent; calves, 103 percent; sheep and lambs, 85 percent, and swine 111 percent. BUYERS HELD LIABLE Trade buyers, unlike domestic consumers, are subject to sanctions under the Defense Production Act of 1950, Delbert M Draper. Utah district director for the Office of Price Stabilization, said in Salt Lake City. The defense act, under which OPS operates, is specifically made applicable in terms of prohibitions to any person who purchases, in the course of trade or business, in violation of the regulations, Mr Draper exploined.
