Library Week April 18-2- 3 observance of National Library Week and in an effort to have the many overdue books returned to the library, the Lehi Library Board will overlook any fines on overdue books from April 18 to 23. Persons having these overdue volumes in their possession are urged to drop them in the book slot at the library and no overdue charges will be made. However, books not returned by April 23 will have the title and the renter's name published and the matter will then be turned over to the local law enforcement of ficers for collection of the book and the fine, library officials said. During this week all local resi dents are invited to visit the li brary and browse through the many volumes available and acquaint themselves with the facilities. Mrs. M.W. Wathen, librar ian, reports that over 100 new volumes of children's and educational books have been received in time for this observance. The week will be climaxed by an open house on Saturday, April 23 from 3 to 5 p.m. Everyone is invited to call at the library during this time. Refreshments will be served by members of the library board. Included on the board are Elwood Hunt, chair man; with Mrs. Russell (Hazel) Hakes, Karl Price, Mrs. LaVon (Beth) Young, E. Russell Innes, Mrs. Don (Betty) Fowler and Mrs. Wathen. It was also reported that ef fective July 1 Mrs. Edna Swain will assume the duties of assistant librarian. Mrs. Wathen has asked to be relieved of part of her duties because of ill health, and Mrs. Swain will be on duty in her absence. Cooper, of the Lehi City Council and member of the Second Ward bishopric, offered the closing prayer. As a postlude, Mrs. Lott played, "Though Deepening Trials." Earl Gray dedicated the grave in the Lehi cemetery. Full military honors were accorded by the American Legion, Lehi Post 19, with Commander Paul Evans in charge. The many lovely flowers were cared for by members of the Second Ward Relief Society. Pallbearers were friends, Ray Bone, Craig Dorton, Gene Evans, Kent Beck, Dale Roberts, Blaine Singleton, Larry Evans and Junior Storrs. Members of the Chamber of Commerce and businesses were seated in a body as a tribute of respect at the services. Interment took place under the direction of the Wing Development Association (UVIDA). VETERAN He was a veteran of U.S. Air Force service during World War n and was affiliated with the American Lehi. Legion, Post 19, of U OF U GRADUATE A graduate of the Lehi High School in 1944, he attended the BYU and graduated from the University of Utah in 1953 with a B.S. degree in electrical en- gineering. When the boy awakens he finds he has grown a beard, which is I i Number J4 Lehi residents Rali (Gus) Larsen, 39, prominent Lehi businessman and veteran of Air Force service during World War n, died Saturday, at 6:10 a.m. in a Salt Lake City hospital, following brain surgery. He had suffered an apparent stroke the previous Monday, April 4, while at his place of business, Larsen s A.G. Market in Lehi. Mr. Larsen was owner and operator of the Larsen s A.G. Market and had served on the A.G. Board of Directors. He had carried on his business in the tradition of three genera tions in the Larsen family, with honest and efficient service in the grocery and meat business, and had made many friends in this capacity. His grandfather, Peter Larsen, and later the Lar sen brothers, Ernest W and, Edward Larsen, had operated this vital business and have done much toward the upbuilding of the community and the area. Very active in community and civic affairs, Mr. Larsen had served as the immediate past president of the Lehi Chamber of Commerce and was a director in that organization.
