Show Funeral Friday at Mapleton for Varren Beardall Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Mapleton Maple-ton ward chapel, for Warren LaVell Beadall, 49, principal of the Mapleton School since 1939, prominent church and civic worker, who died Tuesday at the Utah Valley hospital, of a coronary occulsion. He had been confined to the hospital since May 6. Friends may call tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Berg-Mortuary Berg-Mortuary in Provo and at the family residence at Mapleton, Friday before the services. Bishop Stewart Whiting will be in charge of the sei-vices. Burial will be in the Evergreen Ever-green cemetery. Mr. Beardall was born in Springville, January 10, 1908, a son of Georere LaVell and Em- ma Childs Beardall. He received his education in the Springville schools and graduated from the BY high school and the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University. At the age of 17, he was ordained or-dained to the Melchezedek Priesthood and set apart to preside pre-side over the Fifty-First Quorum Quor-um of Seventy. He served in the California LDS mission 26 months, from 1928 to 1930 and served as secretary sec-retary of the mission for 15 months. He married Naomi Smith, September 24, 1931, in the Salt Lake Temple. After their marriage, mar-riage, they lived at Reno, Nev. where he took prominent part in LDS church and civic work, while employed with the Utah Wholesale. He served in the LDS branch presidency and as commissioner commission-er of Boy Scouts of America in the Nevada area. He has served as Kolob stake superintendent of Sunday Schools and as stake superintendent superin-tendent of the YMMIA. Mr. Beardall was a charter member of the Mapleton Lions club. He was a teacher-trainer in the Sunday School and a 4-H leader. He was affiliated with the American Radio Relay League and operated amateur radio station W 6-OUN. While at the BYU, he played with the Symphony orchestra and was a member of the Springville band several years. He is a member of the Phi Delta Kappa, professional fraternity fra-ternity for men in education. Surviving besides his wife and parents are a daughter, Mrs. j Daniel (Bonnie) Decker of Champaign, 111.; a son, John Beardall, Mapleton; one grand- child; and a sister, Mrs. Maiben I (Anna) Christensen of Spring-I Spring-I ville. 1 |
