Show i Improvements at U. of U. To provide new class rooms and laboratories for the accommoda-I accommoda-I tion of the unusually large num-I num-I bers of freshmen expected to en-I en-I ter the University of Utah in the Ifall, the old assembly room on the top floor of the Museum building is being remodeled. About $6,-I $6,-I 500 will be expended in building I the new rooms and' laboratories. I The psychologyy department on the same floor of the Museum building will be remodeled also. I Three laboratories for the de- partments of zoology, biology and -tt.any, one large class room or Ill lecture room ,two offices, and two I storage and supply rooms for the I laboratories will be provided in J place oS the present assembly j rooms. Two of the new labora- tories will be eused as class rooms until the completion of Kingsbury Hall, the new assembly hall building, build-ing, in January, 1930. The portion of the university campus bordering on the main I drive and on University Street has been planted in lawn and an extensive sprinkling system has been installed. The piece of land Jfchus improved extends for a full city block north and south and approximately one block east and west. A small ravine cutting across ac-ross it, will be planted with native shrubs. Other improvement and changes in the landscaping of the campus will be made in the near future, according to Charles E. Forsberg, superintendent of buildings and grounds. Some of these wall be necessitated by the building of Kingsbury Hall and the Student Union building on the northwest corner of the campus. |
