Minty, deputy commander of the Ogden Air Service Command, to the rank of colonel, was announced this week by Col. PaulJ?., JTelf; eem- mandinf officer of the OASC. Well known for his 15 years' administrative work with the Minne' apolis public schools, Col. Minty served as counselor at Washburn high school, Ramsey junior high school, as supervisor of community civics in the administrative offices and is on military leave from the principalship of the new Southwest high school. He came to the Ogden Air Depot in June, 1940, as a civilian to organize the post schools training program. Commissioned a major with the Army Air Forces in September, 1940, he was first appointed director of training and established the highly successful mechanic learner training program for the Air Service Command in selected schools in California, Washington, Montana, Colorado, Idaho and Utah. Col. Minty has subsequently served as chief of staff, assistant to the commanding officer and deputy commander, the post to which he was appointed in January, 1943, with the organization of the OASC. Col. Minty was graduated from Grinell College and received his master's degree in educational ad ministration from the University of Minnesota.
