Show That PoLTQAirr Discussros. Dr. Newman remains in town, and we understand un-derstand has some idea of taking advantage ad-vantage of that offer to prosecute his missionary undertaking. We hope so. It will be interesting to the great bulk of the people here to listen to a clergyman clergy-man of a Christian denomination undertaking un-dertaking to prove that the Bible does not sanction plural marriage. Dr. Newman took credit to himself on Sunday Sun-day for moral courage in"; coming here to preach views which he considered unpopular. He need not take much credit to himself in this city for such cheap courage, for there are thousands of men here who have traveled over the civiliied world and over a large portion of the uncivilized world, preaching preach-ing doctrines very unpopular, yet nevertheless nev-ertheless true. The Reverend gentleman gentle-man might take credit to himself for having the moral courage to deny a doctrine so palpably taught in the Divine Di-vine record which he must claim as the source of his religious faith. We would like to hear him, and so would thousands thou-sands of others. |
