Show MARCH 29,2007 BRYCE VALLEY AREA NEWS ...by Vicki D. Syrett 679-8687 or vickidiane36@liotmail.com Congratulations to Cajun Syrett and Alexis Tebbs who organized an FCCLA service project and made 60 Baby Bundles for the Garfield Memorial Hospital. Several businesses throughout Garfield County donated money or supplies so Alexis and Cajun could put these bundles together. They presented 60 bundles to DeAnne Brown at the hospital on Friday, March 22nd. The bundles included a receiving blanket, lotion, wipes, bottle and bib. Alexis and Cajun want to thank everyone who helped in making this project happen. Great job!! Shilo and Mykelle Richards had their new baby, Klincey, blessed and given a name in Sacrament Meeting today. There were many family and friends in attendance to support Shilo and Mykelle. Older brothers Keagan and Chancey and sister Abby were in attendance also. Klincey's grandparents are Tom and Melody Richards of Tropic and great grandparents are Floyd and Alaska Richards of Tropic. Slate and Pennie Stewart also had their baby, Jacob blessed today. Brother Mason also was there to witness this joyful event. Mason is the grandson of Max Stewart and the late Phyllis Stewart of Tropic. Family and friends came to be with the family for this occasion. Brady Shakespear who just returned from the Mission Field has been called to serve by teaching in the Young Men organization. Bob Harman was released from teaching in the Primary. D.U.P. held their monthly meeting with 12 in attendance. Glenna Fletcher gave the lesson on Settling of No. California and Erma Clarke gave a History of an ancestor. Everyone enjoyed the meeting and would like to invite you to join them each 3rd Monday at 3:00 P.M. Everyone who was able to attend the Relief Society meeting in Escalante had a great time and enjoyed the crafts, meetings and having dinner served by the Priesthood. It was worth the trip. I had to miss the meeting because I was in Ogden getting sealed to my parents who have both passed away. It was a special time for my sister, Cindy, and I. Had a visit from Kent Willis and his new bride as they traveled through Tropic to visit with grandmother, Bonnie Willis. They seemed very happy and were enjoying their honeymoon. We wish them the best of luck. Ed and Camille Shakespear took Dixie Shakespear to Kanab to grandson, Cody Button's wedding to Megan Spencer. They had a beautiful wedding on the lawn of their home with, Bishop Trevor Stewart performing the cer- Page 6 THE GARFIELD COUNTY INSIDER emony. The parents of the groom are Nolan and Arvon Button. Dixie is the great-grandmother. A wonderful dinner and reception followed the wedding. Dixie then went to New Harmony with Danny and Vicki Shakespear and stayed the night. On Sunday they went to New Castle to the Homecoming of Jeff and Christine Gardiner's son, Trevorfromhis mission to Boise Idaho. Dixie said it was a very special day and enjoyed the dinner afterwards and the visiting with everyone. Dixie shares the news of the blessing of her triplet great-granddaughters who live in Texas. They are the children of Toni and Romar Carl and join three brothers at home. The triplets were named Abby, Carrie, and Sara and their brothers are Isaiah, Jacob, and Sam. It was a very exciting event for everyone. Dixie also went to Beaver to the blessing of another Great-grandson, Tegan Robinson. She traveled over with Rommel and Betty Lou Hepworth of Panguitch and had a very nice time and enjoyed the day. Sounds like Dixie has been kept very busy lately and I know she is loving the visits with family and friends. The Cub Scout Cake Auction was a very successful event and everyone had a great time. The boys made and decorated a cake with their father's to be auctioned off as a fund raiser for the Cubs. The Scout Food Drive was the 24th and the Scouts would like to thank those who did participate and are hoping more will do so this week. It is for a very good cause, to feed those in need. Hope everyone has a great week. Enjoy the sunshine, Conference is coming so I think we might have rain. Send in or call in your news. Thanks to those that take the time to do so.
