First Graders Take Happy Field Trip Last March 29, the Friday, first grade students, of Grantsville Elementary School, under the supervision of their teacher Mrs. Marilyn Worthington, was taken on a field trip. SHORTLY AFTER 9 o'clock seven cars drove up to the school and loaded up with their well behaved passengers. The first stop on the agenda was the Milk House of Jack Brown. Mr. Brown showed the children each step taken to milk the cows. They were shown the milk as It traveled through a glass tube and emptied Into a large cooling vat. The next stop was at the Pig Farm of Max Bleazard. Mrs. Bleazard showed the grotio around the farm. Here the children were shown how the pigs are fed with seif feeders. The children saw black pigs, red pigs, white pigs, spotted pigs, and even black pigs with a white strip around them. There were pigs of almost every size. Next the students were on their way to the Les Boyer Dairy Farm, so that they could observe milk being bottled. Here everything must be so clean. The children were lined up single file and were told to fold their arms and not touch Without anything. exception, every child obeyed the rules. This was educa- very tional for these children as some of them had no idea how they obtained their milk, other than they bought it in cartons from the store. Now they headed back to the school and were to return again at 1:30 in the afternoon. IN THE afternoon, they were to visit at the farm of Matthews. Here t'ey were going to see sheep shear-rebut due to the heavy rains the day before they werent able to shear. However the children enjoyed watching the lambs frolic and play in the sun. Treats were served by Mrs. Bleazard and the teacher. The students and Mrs. Worthington wish to thank the people for their hospitality that made this day one that will long be remembered.
