Show Some reproaches are being hurled at Governor I Wells because he appointed Apostle Heber Grant I to represent Utah at a great educational conven- I tion in Germany. The reproaches do not count. I A high, if not holy, motive influenced the Gov- I ernor in making that appointment. Germany I prides herself on her culture. The average Ger- I man believes that when it comes to the great I industries, his country leads tho world. Ho is I sure that no country has such art as has Ger- I many; that in music no other land is worth a I mention, and Governor Wells appointed the I apostle that Germany might be undeceived. When I Heber gets to that convention and lifts up his I voice to sing "The Holy City," where will Ger- I man artists be? Will they not in concert exclaim: I "We never thought that any artist from any land I could execute "The Holy City" like that. I |
