Show Funeral Services For James E. Smith Funeral services were held Friday, April 12, for James Edward Smith In the Henrieville Ward Chapel. Prayer in Home, Thorley Johnson. Song, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives", Von ana Mae Twitchell; Prayer, Wil-ord Clark; song, "Going Horn e", Shanna Goulding; Speakers, A. L. Elmer, LaRell Munson; song, "In the Garden", Malen and Viva Mecham; speaker, Samuel Pollock; song ''Whispering Hope", George Thompson and Laurie Dea Holley; Prayer, Loris Thompson. The grave was dedicated by Albert Clark. Burial was in the Hehrieville cemetery under direction of Neal S. Mag-leby Mortuary. Mr. Smith, 72, died Tuesday evening at his home. He was born September 17,1884 at Woodruff, Arizona, a son of -James Edward and Elizabeth J. Smithson Smith. On May 18, 1908 he married Nellie Elizabeth Chynowcth in Henrie-:ville; the marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 22, 1910. A farmer and stockman, he was active in the LDS Church, holding the offices of Supt. ol the Sunday School; President of the Mutual, was Bishop ot 'Henrieville Ward for seven lyears, Ward genealogist, and, it the time of his death he was Ward Chairman of the High Priests Quorum. He also filled two Stake Missions, and contributed much to the Ward Teaching Program! He was an honorary Boy Scout and active in civic affairs. Survivors include, his wife; 2 sons and 7 dt!ghters: Ruby Moore, Mar j one Elmer, Flora Leibenguth, Iris Busnnell, Layton Smith, all of Henrieville; Laura Clark, Cannon-ville; Doris Liles, Salt Lake City; Deward Smith, Babbitt, Nevada; Alta Rae McAllister, Panguitch; one brother, Barton Smith; 3 sisters; Margaret Barker, Viola Francisco, all of Henrieville, and Isabell Allen Ogden; 25 grandchildren. |
