Thompson of Salt Lake City spent Sunday visiting visit-ing here with Mr. and Mrs. Edward Larsen. Mrs. Leo Hanson entertained the Social club at her home on Thursday Thurs-day afternoon of last week. Prizes were won by Mrs. LeRoy Lott, Mrs. R. B. Worlton and Mrs. W. L. Worl-ton. Worl-ton. Mrs. W. L. Worlton was a special guest. A delightful party was enjoyed last Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Holmstead by the following couples: Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Roberts, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Buchanan, Mr. and Mrs. John Austin, Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Hard-man, Hard-man, Mr. and Mrs. Holmstead. The evening was spent in playing "500" and "pinochle," after which a delicious de-licious luncheon was served. Mrs. Herman C. Goates entertained enter-tained a a delicious steak dinner at her home Saturday evening, honoring the birthday anniversary of her father, A. B. Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Carson and children have moved to Salt Lake City to make their home. They left Wednesday. Mrs. Fenton Boyack returned to her home In Spanish Fork Sunday after spending a week in Lehi with her daughter and son-in-law, Mayor and Mrs. Dean Prior and family. Mrs. Earl Gaisford left Sunday for Nampa, Idaho, where she will enjoy a two weeks visit with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Post. Sunday Mrs. R. J. Whipple, Mrs. Ora W. Chipman and son, Robert, and Mrs. Laura Jones and daughters, daugh-ters, Ada and Gertrude, of Salt Lake City enjoyed a trip to the Deer Creek dam site in Provo canyon. The two little daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Nicholes of Draper Dra-per have 'been spending the past week in Lehi with their grandparents, grandpar-ents, Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Brown, while their parents have been vacationing va-cationing In California. Lehi friends and relatives will be enterested in the announcement of the marriage of Donald Tate of Mc-Gill, Mc-Gill, Nevada, grandson of Mrs. Christie Willes of this city, and Miss Marjorie Monson of Ely, Nevada, which took place recently. Mrs. J. L Barnhart and son, Dewey, and Mrs. Harold Nielson and daughter, Etta May, of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove attended a birthday party given for little Ronny Curtis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vera Curtis of Rlverton last Friday. Miss Gladys Godfrey left Saturday Satur-day for Ogden, where she will at tend the Weber college again this year. She has been spending the summer vacation here with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Orson Godfrey. Her mother accompanied her to Ogden Og-den Saturday. Mrs. A. E. Doll entertained at dinner Sunday in compliment to Miss Faye Dickerson and Eldred Fox, who were married Wednesday in the Salt Lake temple. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. E. Rodney Rod-ney Dickerson, Doris and Faye Dickerson, Eldred Fox and the hostess. Miss June Hanson entertained at her home Tuesday evening, complimentary compli-mentary to Miss Karlyn Chatfield, who will become the bride of Milton Mil-ton W. Russon today (Thursday) In the Salt Lake temple. The evening eve-ning was spent in playing bridge and a dainty luncheon was served. The young bride-elect was pre sented with many lovely personal gifts. A beautifully-arranged wedding reception was given at the Jensen Home in Salt Lake City Friday eve ning, honoring the marriage of Miss Beverly Minnette, and Mr. Roger Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Brown of Seattle, Washington, which was solemnized earlier in the day in the Salt Lake temple. Im mediately following the reception the young couple left for Chicago, Illinois, where Mr. Brown will study medicine. Mrs. Mendenhall is employed em-ployed with the Unemployment Insurance In-surance agency in Ogden. Miss Ivy Christofferson is enjoying enjoy-ing a visit in Los Angeles, Call fornla. She spent a week In Cedar City before leaving for California. She will be there indefinitely. Mr. and Mrs. James Comer and two children, Teddy and Shirley, visited with' Mr. and Mrs. Barratt Chadwick in Salt Lake City Sun day. They also attended the State Fair. Mrs. Sarah E. Gaisford, Mrs. Alex Christofferson, Miss Lila Gaisford Gais-ford and Mr. Glen Holfeltz of Salt Lake City visited in Rupert, Idaho, last week with Mr. and Mrs. K. L. McKenzle. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Fjeld of Salt' Lake City were visiting here Sun-j day with Mr. Fjeld's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Fjeld. They also visited in American Fork with Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Noyes. Mrs. Sarah E. Gaisford entertained enter-tained at a children's party Friday afternoon at her home in honor of the eighth birthday anniversary of her little granddaughter, Sally Gaisford. Gais-ford. Eight little boy and girl friends were entertained with games and were served dainty refreshments. On Saturday J. F. Bradshaw and daughter, Sylvia Jean, Bernard Bradshaw and daughter, Joyce, and Erma Adams attended the fair in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Bradshaw spent the day visiting with her sister, sis-ter, Mrs. E. H. McAffee and with Boyd McAffee, who just recently returned from the East, where he has been receiving treatment at the Mayo clinic. She reports that Boyd is improving. Gill. Kirk J. Anderson, son of Dr. and Mrs. L. D. Anderson of Boise, Idaho, visited here from Thursday until Sunday with his grandmother, Mrs. Mary Ann South wick. He also visited vis-ited with his other grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Anderson, while here. Lehi stake was well represented at the trl-stake M. I. A. convention held at American Fork Saturday night and Sunday. The Saturday evening session was for stake board members and the sessions Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon were for ward and stake Mutual workers. work-ers. A mixed chorus from Lehi, under the direction of Mrs. Isabel Brown, sang two selections at the afternoon session of the convention. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Harwood and daughter, Harriet, of Salt Lake City spent Wednesday evening visiting vis-iting here at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Adams. Guests of Mrs. Sarah E. Gaisford on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer El-mer Culmer and sons, Fred - and John, Mr. and Mrs. George M. Gaisford and daughter, Patricia, of Salt Lake City, and Mr. Dewey Gaisford of Mammoth. Mrs. Culmer Cul-mer and two sons remained here for a visit at the Gaisford home. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Fullmer and son, Larry, and daughter, Marjorie, and Miss Bonnie Matheson of Salt Lake City were guests of Dr. and Mrs. Elmo Eddington Saturday night and Sunday. On Sunday Dr. and Mrs. Eddington and their guests enjoyed a trip to the Timpanogos Cave and later enjoyed dinner at the Cave Camp. Woffinden Woffin-den of Salt Lake City, which was solemnized Saturday in the Salt Lake L. D. S. temple with Richard R. Lyman performing the ceremony. Mr. Woffinden is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace D. Woffinden of Garland, former residents of this city. A reception at the Hyrum J. Jensen home on Highland Drive, honored the newly wedded couple the same evening, when approximately approxi-mately 350 guests were entertained. The bride was charming in a wedding gown of white satin fashioned fash-ioned with full skirt and circular train. Her fintertip veil of bride's illusion, deeply fringed with lace, fell from a becoming coronet set with pearls and brilliants. Her arm bouquet was of gardenias, pink bride's roses and lilies of the valley, with a shower of satin ribbon. Attending the bride were Mrs. A. E. Gygi, her sister; Mrs. William G. Woffinden, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, and Miss Pauline Gardner. Gard-ner. Mr. Woffinden was attended by his twin brother, William G. Woffinden. Bertrum Willis and Robert Woffinden, Wof-finden, brother of the bridegroom, acted as ushers. Singing was furnished by the Millennial chorus and dancing was enjoyed during the evening. Mothers of the couple wore formal dresses of black crepe with corsages of roses and gardenias. Mr. and Mrs. Woffinden will reside re-side at 1147 Ramona avenue. Attending the reception from Lehi were Dr. and Mrs. W. L. Worlton, Worl-ton, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fox and son, Lowell, and Mrs. Annie Goates. A beautifully-arranged reception of mid-September was that given Friday in the Fifth ward amusement amuse-ment hall, in honor of the marriage mar-riage of Miss Zoe Ball and Mr. Carl Louder, which was solemnized on Wednesday in the Salt Lake temple. The bridal party stood in front of the mantel in the Relief society room, which was banked with roses and other fall flowers. The young bride was lovely in a wedding gown of white satin and wore a finter-tip veil of tulle. She carried a bridal bouquet of roses and lilies of the valley. Mrs. Verla Wadley, her sister, was matron of honor. She wore a gown of peach colored taffeta. The bridesmaids, brides-maids, Miss Allene Frank, was gowned in blue taffeta, Miss Betty Jean Dorton, in peach chiffon; Miss Dixie Davis of Minersville wore a gown of blue chiffon and Miss Naomi Na-omi Ferguson was gowned in rose chiffon. Lloyd Louder was best man for his brother. Assisting the bridal party in the receiving line were parents of the young couple, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Louder of Orem, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ball of this city. The wedding march was played by Alva H. Wing on the electric organ. During the evening the following fol-lowing program was given with Max Sharp as master of ceremonies: Organ music by Alva Wing, vocal trio, Those; Wedding Bells Are Breaking Up That Old Gang Of Mine", Allene Frank, Alto Christensen Chris-tensen and Karlyn Chatfield; reading, read-ing, Mrs. Lucile Rhodes; guitar duet, Max Christensen and Jeff Olsen of Salt Lake City; vocal solo, "I Love You Truly", Naomi Ferguson; trio, "Stay As Sweet As You Are", Betty Jean Dorton, June Anderson and Donna Hadfield. Refreshments were served later in the evening. In charge of the refreshments were Mary Westover of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Rula Dorton. Mrs. Leo Ball, Mrs. Arnold Ball and Mrs. William Ball had charge of the gift room. The young couple left shortly after aft-er the reception for Park City, where they will make their home. A shower complimenting Miss Lois Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Anderson, who will become the bride of John L. Cook. son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Cook on Thursday, September 19 In the Salt Lake temple was given by the Cedar Fort Primary officers at the home of Mrs. Ernest Cook. The home was decorated with brilliantly hued autumn flowers. A gold and orchid color scheme was carried out The date of the marriage mar-riage was announced in small envelopes enve-lopes which were drawn from the centerpiece of flowers by festoons of gold and orchid ribbons, extending extend-ing to each plate. Miss Anderson received many beautiful gifts. There were thirty-seven thirty-seven guests in attendance.
