Gray, while their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Buck-Walter, Buck-Walter, were vacationing In Oregon. Mr. and Mrs. James R. Otis left Monday for Salt Lake City to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Stace Garner, Mr. and Mrs, Nephl Brown of Ogden and MLss Vera Carlson of Logan were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney C. Allred, Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel N. Crane and daughters, Lorna, Willa and Betty, of Draper, and Mrs. Law-lence Law-lence McDonald and son, Ray, of American Fork were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Gray. On Saturday evening Mrs. Morris Mor-ris Holmstead was hostess at a bridal shower given in honor of Mrs. James R. Otis, formerly Miss Cleo Holmstead. The evening was spent in playing Monte Carlo Whist, Mrs. Norman Holmstead winning the high score prize and Mrs. Blanche Evans the consolation favors. fa-vors. A delicious luncheon was served to twenty guests. The Chantante chorus began their weekly rehearsals last Wednesday evening and will practice weekly on Wednesdays during the winter season. At present they are rehearsing re-hearsing for a program to be presented pre-sented by them in Heber City the last of this month. Mr. and Mrs. John R. Bone and son, Ray, Mr. and Mrs. Ruel Evans, and Mr. and Mrs. George Bone of Springville accompanied Russell Bone to the train in Salt Lake City Friday evening. He left for Oakland, Oak-land, California, where he will receive re-ceive aviation training at the Naval Aviation Reserve Base there. Misses Edith and Blanche Goates of Salt Lake City spent Sunday in Lehi with their brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Goates and family. Mr. and Mrs. Goates and children returned to Salt Lake City with them and at' tended the State Fair on Monday. A delicious luncheon was served to Mrs. John Southwick, Mrs. Armond Webb, Mrs. Byron Whipple, Mrs. Lowell Brown, Miss LaPriel Goodwin, Mrs. Ralph Davis, Mrs. Hugh Rhodes, Mrs. Herman Swenson, Mrs. War-len War-len Goates, Mrs. Jay Haws, Mrs. LeRoy Loveridge, and Mrs. Seth Hansen. Mrs. Victor Holmstead entertained at a delightful miscellaneous shower party at her home last Wednesday evening in compliment to Mrs. James R. Otis, formerly Miss Cleo Holmstead, an early September bride. The evening was spent in playing Monte Carlo Whist, Miss Ida Thurman winning the high score prize and Miss Norine Fox, the consolation favors. Later dainty refreshments were served. Those attending were: Dorothy McCal-lister, McCal-lister, Carol Proctor, Ora Putnam, Mary Hopkins, Geraldine Thomsen, Margaret Potter, Margaret Thurman, Thur-man, Ida Thurman, Norine Fox, Thora Hales of Orem, Mary Jense Washburn of Pleasant Grove, Mrs. Evelyn Holmstead, the hostess and the guest of honor. Many lovely gifts were presented to the guest of honor. Mr. and Mrs. Orren Bone who have been living in St. George during dur-ing the past summer months, spent the week end here with Mr. Bone's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Bone. They left Monday for Chinook, Chi-nook, Montana, where Mr. Bone will be employed by the Utah-Idaho Sugar Company. The Relief society etake board members met at the home of Mrs. Edna Banks Friday for their regular regu-lar monthly meeting. During the afternoon they quilted a lovely quilt. Present were Mrs. Delia Fox, Mrs. Lucy Whitman, Mrs. Lula Anderson, An-derson, Mrs. Eliza Logsdon, J.js. Robinson and daughter, Marie, were honored guests at a meeting of the Adams Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, held at the home of Mrs. Laura Timpson in American Fork on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Fjeld and family attended funeral services for Daniel R. Fields (Fjeld) held in Eureka last Friday. Mr. Fields, a nephew of Patriarch Fjeld, was a very prominent man of Eureka, having served as a member of the city council, mayor, and as a mem ber of the school board. He was fifty-three years of age. Mrs. B. ' G. Webb. Their parents, Mr. and Mrs. James R. Atkinson, attended the New York Life Insurance convention at Victoria, Vic-toria, British Columbia. They report re-port having had a wonderful trip, traveling through western Canada and visiting points of interest throughout this section, including a 165 mile boat trip from Seattle to Victoria, Vancouver, B.
