Show UTAH HANDCART PIONEER DEAD AT THE AGE OF EIGHTY ONE mrs harriet smith clawson 81 widow of david clawson and early arl pioneer of morgan county died monday at her home in stoddard after a short illness incident to age she was born in thomastown Thomas town franklin county pa july 16 1858 a daughter of conrad and ellza eliza robinson smith and when three years old crossed the plains with her parents in the daniel robinson hand handcart eart company mrs clawson and her parents settled first in farmington two years later moving to morgan county where she had since resided she was married in december 1877 1977 to mr clawson who died in october 1915 in L D S church work she had swerved served for a number of years starting in in 1911 as relief society president in stoddard branch of north morgan ward and had been a primary association worker for years she was a practical nurse being the first person in the community to whom neighbors turned when sickness came surviving are the following wing sons and daughters david and alma clawson mrs william mrs eunice all of morgan mrs joseph cottrell of darlin darlington ton idaho 28 26 grandchildren and 56 great grandchildren services were conducted wednesday at two ip m in north morgan chapel by bishop horace heiner interment was in north morgan cemetery the order ot of the services was as follows song ing 0 my father by lames ladies chorus opening prayer david robison duet in the garden amy helner heiner and cora jones speakers john helner heiner and joseph solo myrtle richards going home speakers chas smith and G S helner heiner song crossing the bar ladles ladies chorus remarks by bishop heiner closing prayer by james grover the grave was dedicated by james T palmer |
