Postmaster Knight warns that if any of your card envelopes are larger than 9 by 12 inches or smaller than 2 and by 4 inchs es they must be sent by mail because such cards require hand cancellation. When your Chritnias card, are ready to mail, you will do both yourself and the post office employees a real favor by putting the cards with local address in one bundle and those for out of town destinations in another. Then mark each bundle with special identification labels you can get free at the Post Office which read "All for out of town delivery and All for local delivery". If you have a large card list mail your out of town Christmas cards several days in advance of those for local delivery and try to get all cards for distant points mailed by December 15 and those for local delivery should be started on their way at least a week before Christmas. Regarding the mailing of Christmas gifts, Postmaster Knight points out that right now the big double rush Is three-quarte- rs first-clas- g beginning with the Christmas mails paralleling the flood of incoming-package- s and Christmas cards. He urges that you get your packages into the Post Office within the next day or two and do everything possible to mail all of your Christmas gifts for local delivery by December 15. out-goin- out-of-sta- te AN EXPLANATION This week, the Times probably ows a note of explination to its readers and advertise-.r- s As you will note, we have had to print two extra pages all full of delnquent taxes,, giving us a total of some 40 colums of type.
