Show pioneer dead wellington sept 13 hyrum S workman aged 72 father of mr mrs george A willson of this place and a pioneer of the fifties s died saturday at the home of th the Will sons from old age after being in declining health for the past year born in overton county tennessee hia his parents emigrated to utah from eavou illinois with the saints in ia 1850 since that time he has resided in utah washington wasatch and carbon counties utah and in uinta county wyoming it waa was while he was a resident of the tho latter place that hia his wife died seventeen years ago for the past three years mr workman haa has made his home with his daughter mrs hire willson Wil laon and family he lie is survived by seven children all but mrs willson residing in the reservation country and in wyoming frank workman hia his eldest eon son was here from wyoming to attend the funeral which took place yesterday mr workman was one of twenty ch fUren and his death leaves but one of the family alive mr air workman was a lifelong life lifo long member of the latter day saints church he was a farmer and stockman in his younger daye days and was a typical example of the sturdy pioneers who reclaimed the desert and made it a garden spot the sympathy of the whole community and of hundreds of friends in all parts cf 1 ie lle county and state goes out to the bereaved ones in their sorrow the utah fuel Com panya mine at summer t colorado waa was greatly damaged by fire of unknown origin which caught in the lower levels saturday tho the damage was heavy but there was no loss of life the government i ual mine rescue car was rushed to tl tre tle e scene but was not used as the blaze was under control before the car arrived the men employed at summerset are many of them from carbon county campe camps and their are many friends and relatives of men employed there who are still living in the county who will im b glad to know that there jaal waa no loss 1083 of life |
