Holy Cross Hospital's Mobile Mammography Screening Program is scheduled to provide mammography services at Milford Valley Memorial Hospital, Tuesday June 19 and Wednesday, mam-mograp- June 20. Staffed with registered technologists and equipped with the most up medical equipment, this mobile unit provides accessible, low cost screening to the women of the Intermountain West Women age 35 and older can schedule an ap0 minute pointment for mis simple procedure by calling x-r- to-da-te 15-3- x-r- 387-241- 1. A brief medical background and a payment of $55.00 by cash, check or credit card are requested at the time of screening. An itemized receipt is provided for insurance purposes. Because of the benefits of early detection, the American Cancer Society now recommends that all women undergo a baseline breast examination between the ages of 35 and 40. Mammography should be repeated every 3 years between the ages of 40 and 50, and every year after 50. Mr. Ron Garrett, spokesman, presented to the City Council a waterline proposal that would help alleviate contentions between the two systems. A copy of the proposal is attached hereto as Exhibit 389E. After review of the proposal and answering of questions, the matter 'was tabled for review at a later time. Items pertaining to operation of the new secondary water system discussed. Councilman were Grimshaw excused himself from the meeting at 9:00 p.m. The City Council discussed hiring a project manager. The appointment is effective May 15, 1990. The appointment is for the length of the construction of the secondary water system project and contingent upon Mr. Grimshaw tendering his resignation as Beaver City Coundlmember. The monthly salary for services provided for the project manager during the construction period shall be $1,800 per month, plus Beaver City's standard benefits: FICA, health insurance, Utah State Retirement All voted in System, SEP-IRfavor of the motion. It was the concensus of the Council the Secondary Water System Council Meetings be cancelled until futher notice. The City Council reviewed a letter from Premiere Cable Company. It was noted by the City Council mat the Cable Company is trying to improve services. A new toll free number is available and regional supervision is now on line. The cable company is pledging its personnel and equipment to upgrade cable service within Beaver City. A conference call was made to Beaver City's Bond Attorney concerning the closing of Beaver on is Candidates for public office and their campaign workers should be awarew of laws that make it illegal to place signs in the y of state highways. Signs cannot be placed in the y without highway proper permits, nor can they be placed on utility poles, fences, trees or street signs in the rightrof-waright-of-wa- right-of-wa- y. The problem isn't Just with political signs. Signs from "garage sale" to "free Kittens" can be found. The signs are not only an " " (ft) ism" x-r- 1-- eyesore, but can be a safety hazard, too. Illegally placed signs can cut down visibility and obstruct important regulatory signs. It is UDOT policy to remove and destroy illegally placed signs without bias to candidate or opinion. The time and money spent removing signs is considerable and could be better utilized elsewhere. UDOT is asking for cooperation from all candidates In keeping illegal advertising off the roads. Bryan Jackson attorney at law, Gae Murdock, and Hal Christensen, requiring that work start immediately to secure unlawful entry to the building and abatement of dangerous conditions.. Planting for the Year V Hi It's again time 0 iv An Appreciation Dinner was held Monday, May 21, 1990 honoring the Medical staff The dinner was given by the EMT Group showing their appreciation of Dr's David and Mike Symond and Assistant Mary Physician's Milford-Minersvil- le Wiseman. Each was presented an award for their many hours of service given toward teaching and training and support of the group. Milford City Donates to Little League Board Wayne Hardy representing the Milford Little League requested the City Council approve the donation of $250.00 for the purpose of hiring a Individual to water and mark the little league fields. He stated this would eliminate the city crew being responsible for the care. Mayor Florence recommended giving the $250.00 to the little League Board. Councilman Thomas motioned to approve the Councilman $250.00 donation, Romine seconded the motion, and all voted in favor of the motion. Keith Long representing Americans Honoring Americans met with the Council to discuss changes in the lease between the organization and City. Attorney Kanell was instructed to make the changes as noted by Mr. Long. Councilman Sower motioned to authorise Mayor Florence to sign the lease addressing the changes made by Attorney Kanell, Councilman Romine seconded the motion, and all voted in favor of the motion. Requests from Wayne Wiseman, Library Board Chairman were read by Mayor Florence. Measurement are available services and recommended if there are any doubts as to the correct acreage of fields or planted acreages. After certification, the ASCS office will select farms at random for spot checks and acreage determinations. The acreage determined will then be compared with the acreage certified by the farmer. Farmers found out of compliance after a spot check could lose program benefits and be subject to liquidated damages. for Proven USDA yields programs are once again a topic for congress to review. Public law now requires that County Committee's for ASCS allow producers to submit production evidence for wheat and feed grain for 1989 and subsequent years. The Secretary of will determine Agriculture whether of not the actual yields will be used for future farm programs. A determination of using actual yields and its costs will be reported to congress in 1990. A service fee of $15 for each crop and irrigation practice will be charged to producers who request to prove actual yields. ASCS motioned to appoint Arlene Malchus to the Library Board, and Councilman Carvalho seconded the motion, and all voted in favor of the motion. Councilman Whitney motioned to approve money for a project requested by the Library Board to build shelves after money is in place from the major bids for the $38,000.00 project Councilman Thomas seconded the motion, and all voted in favor of the motion. Councilman Sower motioned to rescind the past motion to approve money for a project until representatives from the Library Board has met with the COuncil, Councilman Whitney seconded the motion, and all voted in favor of the motion.
