When I try to get him to work he can do nothing but look at her picture and sing something about The You And Me that Used to be. Hes even lost his appetite. All he ate for breakfast this morning was two dishes of fruit, four bowls of wheaties, two of hredded wheat, five eggs, fourteen pancakes and two quarts of milk Im afraid the lack of food will spoil his healthj Please help me. Yours with tears in my eyes. Mrs. Blake. Dear Mrs. Blake. Woe is you. Perhaps if you hide her picture and make him do a little work his appetite will return. Ive noticed hes losing weight. Perhaps if you don't Brink it's too early, you could put a few pair of red flannels oil him for beautys sake. It may save him from being mistaken for a fence post and used as such. Dont mind his mourning about Beth. Its just because the love hug took off more than he could chew. She will perhaps return to him. Yours, Madame lx Nay. Dear Madam I Nay: It is to you that I write about my son Lends. I know not what I am to do with him. When he milks or does other work he sings of Mary. Madam, do you think they will elope? We need him here on the farm so much. Sincerely, Mrs. Wells. Dear Mrs. Wells: I, too, have found that Lewis is a problem child. If you will jm-- t lock Jtini in a room and put a gag in his mouth and keep Grant away for a while, you may be able to quiet him, but if you still have trouble, hire a private detective. Oh! Besides a letter that is being sent to our parents which threatens the uccess of our achievements, there is a growing conflict in our own ring committee. It seems that several committeemen insist on certain rings which are going to be impossible for the majority of us. The responsibility of the situation rests entirely on our shoulders. It remains for us to overpower these barriers. Through jour spirit and cooperation we may all receive a token of remembrance for this school year. l)o we realy want rings??? I lus Utter was written by Provo River Water Commissioner, T. F Wentz. The letter follows; September 20, 1937 Utah Water Storage Commission. Salt Lake City, Utah. Dear Sirs: The press reports a special meeting of the Water Storage Commission, tomorrow, to discuss phases of the pending case under which of Utah adjudication is sought Lake and Jordan River water rights. Following, briefly, are matters we respectfully present for your consideration : The suit covers all of Utah County, all of Wasatch County, part of Summit County, and part of Salt Lake County, embracing an area of 37S4XX) acres, approximately with an assessed valuation amountof the wealth ing to of the State, and affecting more than the people of this commonwealth. The plaintiffs are attacking the validity of alt rights to the use of water of the Utah Lake and Jordan River drainage basin, rights that have existed continuously of since the earliest settlement these valleys in the 1850s, and which never before have been questioned by Salt Lake County interests. Consequently, despite the continuous unmolested use of watfor er by the defendants of a century, they must now defend and establish before another tribunal a right to continue its benefits. Tlte State estimates this case will million cost at the least dollars, and there will not have acof crued an additional quantity wafer. Will it then lie settled? No. Would it not be wise and best to expend this money in conservation. building up stem ?, or the diking of Utah Lake, and thus, leave for all time, a legacy of a better water supply? This $500,000 comes not from the one on the pay roll, the factories, of the mines, tir rlie farm property, it all comes from the man who labors from dawn to dusk on the land, it means for him and his wife, and his children, less food ami less clothing, It means a econd mortgage on the homestead and a cliatt'c ait the family dock. Mr. Crandall died Sunday, September 2tith, and funeral services were held in the Sharon Ward chapel September 28th. Speakers at the services were W. J. Cordner, S. A. Pace, President T. N. Taylor and Bishop R. J. Murdock. High tribute was paid to him as a pion-ee- r builder, farmer, civic itttefest promotor and as a staunch believer and doer in Church activities. Musical numbers were beautifully rendered and the floral offerings bespoke the high esteem with which he was held among his many friends and relatives. Mr. Crandall was a member of the Sharon Ward Old F'olks Committee, and served as Sunday for twelve School Superintendent years, lit has been connected with irrigation interests in this section since the formation of the old Blue Chit Canal Company which was one of the first to be organized, and has always been an officer of that company.
