Mrs. McGinley has a message to impart to, and on behalf, of women who like to make a home for a husband and children. child-ren. She does it wonderfully well. It certainly renewed my pride in being a woman! And even more than that she made me very proud of my old cast iron skillets and Dutch oven! I highly recommend it to all ages. It's available at the Delta City Library or I have a paperback pa-perback (thanks to Stella Ashby) that I'll be glad to let you read. Frankly, I'm glad that the deer hunt is behind us and also the pheasant hunt. I don't like guns with or without a telescope. Four or five weeks ago I started a modern-day fairy tale on politics and political parties. In the meantime, mean-time, a lot of other things have come which are interesting and I've yet to finish that column. One of these days. Do you, you or you read James Reston in the Tribune. I always read him. I like the way he turns a phrase. His column of Nov. 5, however, had more to my liking than a well-turned phrase. "Vote Pattern Awry A Hopeful Sign" was the title of that particular par-ticular column and was on the com plete upset in the mayoral race in New York City and other of our big metropolitan areas. Mr. Reston commented that voters refuse to be roped and measured much to the consternation of professional politicians. He pointed out that how a minority group votes in one area may not necessarily be the way they will vote in another. He said that the 1965 elections should tell us all something about the A-merican A-merican political system and said that where there is so much variety va-riety and independence in voting that even a massivle defeat, such as suffered by the Republican Party Par-ty in 1961, can be overcome. He predicts even more independence independ-ence in the American voter and even though this would despair professional politicians, this may prove to be a good trend. I kept my copy. Care to read it, if you haven't already? I have heard Senator Thorpe Waddingham speak many times. Some of those times I haven't particularly par-ticularly liked what he had to say. This is no secret. He's already been told. But, I am very happy that I was one of several who heard him speak at the Veterans Day Banquet Ban-quet last Thursday evening. His speech was without a doubt one of the best that I've ever heard. His topic was timely. His delivery was excellent. Although short, as after-dinner speeches go, Senator Waddingham had something to say and he said it very well, indeed. I hope that I've done a good job on reporting it. Youll find the story elsewhere. If you don't like it don't blame the good senator. Blame the reporter! It was heartwarming to see so many persons in attendance at the banquet who are "non-service connected." con-nected." This is good, I think. Some of those present were Commissioner Commission-er and Mrs. Leigh Maxfield, Councilman Coun-cilman Floyd Hardy, Mr. and Mrs. Max Robison, W. E. Black, Dee Black, LaVon Black and very possibly pos-sibly others. It was nice to see them paying tribute to veterans. NOTICE!
