Show SUSC THE THUNDERBIRD On Campus SatDVHBS THURSDAY, APRIL 5, 1990 .(S-sesh- PAGE oo OBSERVATORY HOURS RESCHEDULED April programs at SUSCs Ashcroft Observatory will start at time. p.m. because of the change to daylight-savin- g Brent Sorensen, assistant professor of physical science, said the moon, Earths closest neighbor, will take center stage April 9 and 30 and that observatory telescopes will be trained on Jupiter, the constellations Virgo and Leo and on other deep sky objects April 16 and 23. Observatory programs, which are free of charge, will continue at 9 p.m. throughout the summer, Sorensen said. The Ashcroft Observatory is located three miles southwest of Cedar City and can be reached by traveling west on Utah Highway 56 then turning south on Western View Drive. The activities slated for the remainder of the week include todays Convocation featuring Indian Treaties: The Inverse Effect at 1 1 a.m. in the Auditorium by George Cornell, director of the Native American Institute at Michigan State University. luncheon with Cornell follows the lecture at noon A in Zions A and B. He will also hold a workshop on Indian Economic Development at 1:30 p.m. Todays activities conclude with the Intertribal Princess Pageant to be held at 7 p.m. in the Cedar High School Auditorium. Friday a lecture on The Indians of Political Force will be presented at noon in Zions A and B by Mark Maryboy, San Juan commissioner and director of the Utah Navajo Development Council.
