Edson, who are the founders of the Order of the Arrow program for the boys, giving boys encouragement to farther develop leadership. Robert Bliss a former Payson boy visited in Payson the first week of September calling on friends and parents Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Bliss. In calling on James Garner he reluctantly gave a brief review of his Scouting and school activities. In growing up through the Scouting years he gave credit to such Scout Masters as Abner Baird, and Stanley Peck. Under their leadership he learned more about trignom-etrthat is how to measure the height of a tree, the width y, of a stream, or field, than in the eight years he attended college. Scouting took the scout into practical experience, while college was book learning. As the wards and Scout Masters changed he managed to accomplish the rank of Fagle Scout except two merit badges. He is presently superintendent of the Beaver School District.
