Show Sad Hallway Accidents Wednesday seemed to be I an unfortunate day for Union Pacific employees as within t few hours time three were crushed beneath i be-neath tho wheels in and around Ogdan One of the victims was John H Maroney B brakeman on a local freight train At 1130 oclock in the forenoon the train was at Kidders switch between Coalville and Valls hip The engine was doing some switching and in passing a cattle pen Maroney was struck by a guard and knocked with violent force to the ground I The unfortunate man was picked up piaced on the train and brought to Ogden His bead was horribly cut and bruised and his thumb badly mangled by being don d-on the raiL The poor fellow was placed in the Union Pacific hospital here but his in juries were of such a nature that he soon passed away The section hand run over by switch engine No 1203 in the depot yards here and first reported as Neils Christofsen as stated in yesterdays HERALD turned out to be a man by the name of Armund Solie a native of Sweden Solie was also taken to the hospital and died late night before last He has a wife and several ain a-in Sweden but no relatives in this country The third victim was Brakeman Hal r stead on freight train No 22 from Salt Lake who was injured at Hooper Halt Hal-t > had one arm broken and was severely i cut about the head He was taken back to 1 Salt Lake to be cared for The bodies of Solie and Maroney were 5 S taken to Undertaker Preshaws and will I be buried this morning in the city cemetery I ceme-tery |
