After lying dormant for some months, the subject was revived Monday, and the commissioners at their regular mon- thly meeting, spent some time in this discussion. Plans were laid for a meeting with mayors and city leaders of the county, to be held next week- This will be followed by a public meeting at a later date to acquaint the general public with what has been done, and what can be expected - in the future. Mr. Conover pointed out that the county commissioners feel the need for additional facilities, and pledge their support to any program felt needed by the residents of the countyWe feel to commend the commissioners for the initiative again taken by them to bring this proposal before the public. It is our hope that in the near future, - when ,a public meeting is called that every citizen of the county will be on hand to express themselves for or against such improvements. The idea of the possibility of a hospital grew from meetings held last summer. As the result of research and study, it was felt by a committee at that time that a hospital was possible and feasible. However, some discussion was presented as to what type of a unit was needed. So far as the old argument that we cant afford such a step, we would like to add that financially, the county stands high in the state. It has no indebtedness, and has the ability to easily undertake such a task with the involvement of very little additional tax money. We, as a county, dont owe anything to anybody, so far as financial indebtedness is concerned. But we do owe something to ourselves, in the way of pride and accomplishments. We owe ourselves the without relying right to be on someone else to continually provide self-sufficie- nt Eloise of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Sitterud, children Editor and Publisher . CLARIN D.
